Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000 - Combat Patrol: Blood Angels

I am in love with the deal you get with these Combat Patrol boxes. As someone who spends a lot more time building and painting miniatures than playing with them, getting so many figures at once is enough to keep me busy for months at a time. You really get a lot of bang for your buck, which great since this hobby can sometimes feel painfully over-priced.I really especially enjoyed painting the Impulsor and the Agressors. You can’t take a step without crashing into one of these boxes with Intercessors in them, but at least that’s only five of the figures here (as opposed to the Deathwatch box that packs ten of them). The Incursors/Infiltrators and the Librarian are pretty cool too.As far as function, there’s enough here for the smallest game setting (but your opponent will need an army of their own and you’ll need the rulebook and codex and dice and…) and you’re not married to the Blood Angels. You can paint them as any Space Marine faction you want, but the upgrade sprues have the Blood Angel Iconography, so won’t be useful if you’re painting them up as Dark Angels or Space Wolves or anything.I’ve been painting mine of dark green for Dark Angels (and got ahold of the Dark Angels upgrade sprues separately for the unique shoulder-pads, but these aren’t necessary). I’ll try to remember to update the review with a picture if and when I finish them up!

Works a good for any space marine faction. Not particularly Blood Angels specific though.

Great value for the set when compared to individual products directly from James. Set contents at approximately 136 USD is basically half price of full retail. I wish I would have bought the original Dark Angels version for the Dread and Chaplain.

Admittedly I don’t play the game - yet. I’m new and using this to build my first army. I can’t tell you about the effectiveness in play. I can tell you the detail of the minis is great. The quality is just as great. I’m having a ton of fun deciding how to build them. This see,s like a good entry point into the hobby, so while the price seems a little steep… I’m still happy.

I was pleasantly surprised when the box came with no scratches or holes in it; all of the contents were safe and sound as well. I have bought many Warhammer boxes off of Amazon, but this was the nicest one (not sure if this was luck or not).

This product was sold at a great price relative to other sellers. My only problem is that when it arrived, the box was a little beat up and had no shrink wrap seal. Other than that everything inside the box was unscuffed and all there.

I was worried about other reviews saying they had gotten their box opened/missing items/or boxes being very damaged through shipping. My seller was “Fastest Shipping US.” My box was in an Amazon shipping bag and the factory tape was intact. All pieces were accounted for. Despite the little wear on the edges, I’m very pleased with my Combat Patrol box!
