What does the top look like? How is it hung?

I have mine on tension rod. It has a like a 2 to 3 " woven like material hem

what is the diameter of the hole for the rod?

Regular curtain rod will work fine. 1 1/2 inch or smaller

Will these attach to a loft bed?

These beaded string curtains are made with a 2-3" cuff at the top and can accommodate a tension rod, a shower rod, or a normal mount rod. So, if you have 2 hard/flat surfaces that face each other under your loft bed (ie: walls, bed posts) you can easily hang these curtains. Due to their light weight I also saw where one customer mounted a stick-on Velcro strip across the top of her doorframe and attached another strip on the backside of the curtain cuff. **To prevent any gaping on front side of cuff, she tacked the front/back side of the cuff together with a few stitches before attaching the Velcro strip to it.
