Talk about a easy to apply high quality finish
We are in the process of completely remodeling our kitchen and decided on wood butcherblock counter tops. My wife and daughter did alot of research and found this was one of the best finishes we could use. And it is. We are so happy with the finish. throw water on it and it just beads up. Waterproof for sure. Which is very useful in a kitchen counter.i can't say it's a hard finish as I did put a tiny dent in the counter after dropping my tape measure from a distance (don't tell my wife), but it is hard to notice, but this does seem to make the material at least a little more durable. Course even poly is not 100% protective. My wife also liked the fact that is SO much easier to apply then wipe on poly. It's like thick water, so it goes on real nice. She wants to use it on the basement wood ceiling I just put it because it's easier. The only downside we found (though NOT a fault of the product), is that you can not use the surface for at least a week, so you have to be prepared to let it sit. And a full cure is 30 days. Just something to keep in mind. Even still, it's worth the wait, we love it.

Great for flooring
Great for flooring. The smell on the initial hour of laying it down was fantastic. I love citrus fruits. 4 to 5 hours later upon returning to the house, the fumes were a little too intense, so open up windows!Otherwise, like all tung oil, it darkens your wood surface by a decent margin, and really accentuates the grain. Its alcohol resistant when cured (look to about 30 days for curing or longer - it is tung oil after all!) as well as water resistant and to a minor degree, scratch resistant. An added bonus is with being cut with citrus solvents it at least dries at a faster rate. All in all, a week out from using it, I can walk on it, and theres a faint orange peel smell that I love - especially when it covers previous owners dog and musty basement smells. I was also able to get about 500sqft of coverage per gallon on 35yo red oak flooring. One coat. Aiming for two coats and waterlox to lock it all in, and any leftover will be used in the woodshop for any projects. Im a new believer in tung oil!

Make Wood Color and Grain Really Pop
I finish a lot of wood pieces, and this works particularly well for charcuterie boards. It is food safe, and the citrus solvent imparts a very nice smell. This product penetrates better than pure tung oil, so brings out the deeper colors in the wood. Actually it comes close to restoring the wood color to the day the log was sawn, which is particularly nice in the case of American Elm. Elm, when varnished, has a nice grain but kind of bland cream color. With this oil finish, the original grays, tans, pinks and browns pop back to life. I sell wood slabs, and walnut just about sells itself, but beautiful alternative woods like elm are unfamiliar to a lot of people and they need to see a finished product before they buy. This helps me sell a lot more elm.

Fantastic product.
This is the best oil I have ever worked with, from floors to cutting boards. It's worth what it costs.

Satisfied customer
This is a very good product. It goes on extremely easily and prep is minimal. I am quite pleased with the results. I used it on an 8 year old Epe deck that had only one treatment when it was new, so it was quite dry. It brought back the original color and it looks great. Coverage required 2 coats. My only criticism would be that the coverage is not as good as advertised (likely due to the dryness of the wood). Based on the square footage, I calculated it would take about 2 gallons and it required 5 gallons. The material, once cured, seems to be not very resistant to abrasion. It is easy to touch up however.

Update
I shopped and shopped trying to come up with the best way to finish my acacia butcherblock countertops. I wanted a heat resistant surface and a stain resistant surface. It has been about three months now and I really cannot say enough about Half and Half pure tung oil! Not only is it stain resistant it is grease resistant. I cook on my counters with electric skillets and counters routinely get covered with heavy layer of grease. I used to use Greased Lightning to help cut the grease when I would wipe down counters. With the cured tung oil the grease wipes up super super easily with no chemicals at all! The tung oil simply resists the grease. Liquids bead up, nothing sticks or stains. I love this stuff! The tung oil is naturally amber so it will change the color of the wood but I would recommend this to anyone! Cleans up great; looks great, matte finish; and handles heat great! So glad I have found this!!!

worth the wait
UPDATE: Third picture shows area that gets drenched with water regularly. 6 months later, looks as good as new. Still love this tung oil product!I used this product on new baltic birch butcher block. I started with making my cuts to fit the cabinets and sink. Then sanded the entire piece with 220 sand paper and wiped it clean. Placing the pieces on semi-permanent blocks, I heated the room, 75-85*F, let them acclimate to our dry desert air. Next morning I followed the directions on the bottle. I put three coats on by that night(top, bottom, and sides) and then another coat in the morning. I kept the room warm, opened windows from time to time and had the fan going. The curing process NEEDS FRESH AIR, Oxygen, The warmer and fresher the air, the better and faster the cure will be. I left them alone for 9 days, then installed them. They were still slightly oily, but easy to work around. By day 15, they are dry.I'm happy with the scent, and water beads off well.I used a total of 1/2 gallon for 38sq ft, but that was for tops and bottoms. Maybe overkill. The end result was just what we wanted.

Amazing product!!!!
I love this food safe low VOC finish for the inside of your home, floors, countertops or cutting boards. I was not worried about working with this product bare foot, which I do recommend because rubber shoes will make marks in a raw wood floor. I’m buying another gallon for my outdoor projects this summer.
