Ice Cap K1
Bought the skimmer for my 32.5 Fluval Flex. The Fluval skimmer hadn’t ever worked well. The Ice Cap didn’t exactly fit as hoed in the Fluval space. However, we made some adjustments and the K1 is working great.

Works great, built well, works right away.
I thought I would use it for a month before I wrote a review. Out of all my skimmers this was the by far the most simple to setup and get working, it pulled a huge amount of black skim out the first night I set it up. I paid around 140$ and it was well worth that price.

Broken Trash and Bad Customer Service
Changing my review to one star. I noticed when I purchased the skimmer that the inner bubble tower was wobbling around. I assumed that's how it was meant to be. Forward to last week when I took it apart to clean it and I found out that one of the tabs that holds that piece in was broken. I reported it to Coralvue and we have been going back and forth via email, making me jump through hoops just to get a replacement piece. I glued it back together so it works but it shouldn't have been broken in the first place and Coralvue should have just taken care of me as a customer. Last product I ever buy from Ice Cap or Coralvue.******Old Review******This skimmer is a little beast! Started working right away and fully stable after about a week. Pulling out nice dark skimmate. It has slowly been helping kill off the cyano that was starting to grow in my Fluval Evo after using their PS2 skimmer(which was thrown straight into the trash). It is quite a bit louder than I expected but it's worth the extra noise.

Update: Great skimmer.
Update: After a little more than a week of use I have upgraded the review to 5 starts. The skimmer is very quiet now, and producing dark skimmate. I am very happy how it is performing. Below is my first review. The skimmer looks of very good craftsmanship, however, the one I got is loud. I know every skimmer is different and while some may break in in one or two days, others may take weeks. It is producing a good amount of micro bubbles and none scaping the body of the skimmer. I’ll wait at least a week and see if it quiets down, if it doesn’t, I may return it and go back to my DIY air driven protein skimmer. I have it on a IM Nuvo 20.

Good skimmer for tight space
Overall, seems like good quality, easy setup, compact (with some adjusting of the mount and lines, fit in the back of my all-in-one’s rear sump) and after only 12 hours or so, it’s already pulling brown gunk (skimate) from the water. Set up per the instructions on Y-Tube (it actually came with no written instructions).Probably undersized for my setup but I was very limited in space so this was pretty much the biggest I could get. First impression is that it’s definitely working with the initial settings (per instructions), and it’s a little noisier than I’d like. From my experience with pumps though, they do break in and should quiet down with time. As far as value, seems a little overpriced, but then again I haven’t had much hands on experience with skimmers. Will update as needed.
