Practical. Simple. Works.
If you've subscribed to the Makita 18v way of doing things this will be another useful addition. If you haven't then it will be a good place to start. Great for clearing up after jobs or getting into more awkward places around the house. Good for cars and vans too. Some reviewers have commented that the hose is too short for hooking up to sanders etc. but for general use it is more than long enough and it wraps around the casing for easy storage. If it was any longer it wouldn't be so easy to carry about or store. Suction is more than adequate. I got a generic brush and adaptor which I modified to fit. If you want a longer hose (Makita might make an extension but I haven't looked) then I'm sure one of the many hoses available on Amazon would fit or could be adapted to fit.

Perfect
Very light, compact and powerful. I use it at construction site to collect drywall and plywood dust and does it well. Its ~33% less powerful than top of the line Hilti hoover (VC 2D-22) but costs ~2.5x more. There is always great value when it comes to makita and their tools tend to be very reliable.

Quality, sturdy and compact — Buy √
Bought to replace 15 yr old DeWalt corded/battery water vac, this as expected does not have the suction but good enough for water, I don't use for dry (have fitted the wet filter optional).Better in reviews than Milwaukee but also have Makita tools batts so saving cost.I'd recomend it.Never leave water in collection sump, empty and dry it or motor will deteriorate as in my old'n !

works well with saws and planer
its small enough to not get in the way when attached to a tool but powerful enough to catch most dust also good for a stand alone cleaner on small fitting jobs

Really rather good.
Nicely portable, easy to use, decent battery life and effective suction.I haven't yet tried it with liquid.

Pretty decent
At first was disappointed with the power of suction as I purchased this with the intentions of emptying cisterns when carrying out plumbing repairs on toilet. With the filter in, it doesn’t work well for water, however take the filter out (just clips off) and it works very well. Good size and easy to store in the van. Very good tool and is a must have for any domestic jobbing plumber.

Super bit of kit
Love everything about this hoover. Have all makita kit. Was actually surprised how much suction power it has and how long it runs on a single battery. On a 4amh I get around an hour. Used on both settings depending what I'm sucking up. I'm in the building trade so use it everyday. Very good as a dust extractor too connected to tools. Could do with a longer hose and maybe include connectors for tools. But sturdy lightweight and super easy to clean out. Must have for anyone who works inside. Great for the car too as its a wet and dry .highly recommended bit of kit
