Humphrey's Witch Hazel Facial Toner, Cucumber Melon, 8 Ounce

An interesting way to get glycerin safely into my oily skin, which is actually necessary before I can apply a glycerin shaving soap, otherwise mass transfer explodes my epidermis, and I have to stick to Williams and the like. (Which is fine, too.) The witch hazel seems to chemically protect the dermis from penetration by other ingredients of the toner. You should understand that this toner is very different from Witch Hazel, USP, and it isn't just the "alcohol free" aspect.(Glycerin, and other ingredients in the toner, are technically alcohols.) If that is your primary concern, leave some Witch Hazel to evaporate in a cup overnight.Possible novel use: DIY antiperspirant! Apply alum to pits after shower, when wet. Pat on some Humphreys, then coat with shaving alum, and fan dry. Finally, apply a dab of men's moisturizer. This stable film will allow you to sweat, but not allow bacteria to stick to your person. After a good sweat, just lightly rinse off and get a new shirt.

This doesn't smell as cucumbery as I'd like it to, but it's still a great product.

It does not smell like a cucumber OR melon but does have a soft powdery pleasant sent, and did a great job of removing excess oils and leftover makeup, but It Stings a little after you apply it and leaves it red initially and it goes away after a while. I had initially given this a 3 star rating. But i figured out I was being to rough with my skin and exfoliating it too harsh and too often that this toner burned my face. Now i learned to be more gentle and apply this every day after washing and it feels great!
