First month in ground
Watering daily in Texas heat - hope it grows fast! Ordered four. Three are here to block ac in futureNo, it’s been Over 100° for 15 days so as you can see the weeds are also growing. The weeds will be pulled and so will the spiky agave plants. They will be replanted somewhere else. I have three Of the strategically placed 6 feet or more away from the AC unit in hopes that they all grow and that side of the yard some wow factor. I’ll be sure to update this is only September 2, 2024

I'll be disputing the charges.
These are what I received. Not even close to the picture posted for what you get if you buy 4 CT. I'm very very disappointed. These weren't cheap little sticks. I'm just hoping for miracles.

Doing great after a year and a half
Two winters ago that severe winter storm in central Texas took out half of my many shade trees. I noticed that most of the crape myrtles around here weathered the unprecedented 5 days of ice. So in the middle of last summer I bought 4 of these Tuscarora crape myrtle babies. They were well packaged and protected for the trip. I kept them on a shady porch for about a week, watering them each day. When I planted them their tiny trunks looked a little fragile, so I surrounded each with plastic bark protectors. They’ve gotten watered weekly with the lawn sprinklers, and I’ve hand water them as needed during the hottest parts of our famously brutal summers. At the end of last summer they had doubled their size—not saying much since they basically started out as 6 to 8 inch twigs. This year, despite the drought, the two tall ones have grown to about 2 feet (see the attached photos). Crape myrtles around here often blossom twice in a summer. These guys blossomed 3 times this year.Tuscarora crape myrtles ultimately grow quite tall, essentially small trees, and they’re naturally fungus resistant. Four small but robust crape myrtles at this price is a good deal, and I couldn’t be happier. The only caveat I would mention is how tiny they start out. I was smart to protect them from lawnmowers etc with bark protectors. Also the description on the Amazon web page says incorrectly that the blossom color is “lavender”. Tuscarora’s are a vivid watermelon pink/red.

All healthy and flowering already!
We chose to order 12 baby trees and were pleasantly surprised at how healthy they were when we opened the box. Just look at all the buds! Even though they looked healthy we were fully expecting several wouldn’t thrive. We planted two in our front yard and ten along the outside of one of our fences just hoping most of them would survive. My husband is very faithful to water them and has used special food on them a time or two also. We couldn’t be happier with their progress so far. All twelve have buds and almost all of them have open blossoms. I’m praying they’ll all stay healthy over their first winter. Don’t hesitate to try these!

Beautiful and healthy!
Wow! So impressed with these little beauties! Shipping was quick and they arrived in perfect order. We set them in the shade for a few days and gradually moved them into the sun before we planted them. They seem to like it here :) I do have a tomato cage around each of them so our lawn person doesn’t accidentally run them over. I’ll update as needed as far as growth I’d concerned.EDIT: less than one month later, and these cuties have all grown 3-4 inches at least, AND one has bloomed! I’m impressed!
