a very good purchase; use to sleep in/wear & no tears (for ten days of daily use)!
really happy with these! like the extra size & the gold front/silver back coloring.traps body heat like nobody's business though it is somewhat see-through.have been using it while sleeping; tucking/clipping between blankets & an attempt at wearing -- foil remained entirely intact for ten days of daily use with no tears! used packing tape on front and back of tear. (lasted for probably more than two weeks of nightly use before tearing in half.)the six blankets come individually wrapped, too.paid $8.99 in May; late October saw price went down to $7.99.

I bought it for EMF Protection
Since I noticed that the EMF (Electromagnetic Field) output around my circuit breaker box is off the charts, I have been looking for a solution to protect myself. After reading online that Mylar is excellent for blocking EMF, I decided to go for these blankets and use one to hang in front of my CB box. It looks like a small golden curtain :-). Most importantly though it greatly reduced the EMF being directed into my kitchen. I would highly recommend this for people who have that CB box in their bedrooms - you wouldn't believe how many people have those in their bedrooms. I also keep one of the blankets in my car for possible emergencies. Great quality for a great price!

These are great!
I like these, because you can use them for different purposes.I keep a couple of them in the truck...in case of emergency. Not only my emergency, but if I see an accident, or a homeless person thar could use one, they are inexpensive enough to give away. I also covered my south facing bedroom window with one to keep the sun out, and keep it cooler. I also have seeds and tomato plants growing in my bathroom window, and I use these to reflect the sun onto the plants. They really do have so many purposes!

Always keep some of these in my glove box and also my bicycle bag.
These things are really great; they truly do keep in warmth. Very cool that it's waterproof also. A great gift for ppl on the street, costs me a buck or two but can make a big difference in someones life.

So-so
Very thin plastic, but that's probably about typical for this type of product. If using for a project involving nails or staples, they're subject to easy ripping. What really seems lower grade vs my older Korean-made Mylar sheets is the thickness of the reflective material (although with the old ones it comes off easier). Reflections aren't as clear and I can see more light through the film. That suggests that they don't reflect 'quite' as much infrared/radiant heat either.Of course, in many applications one also needs "dead air" insulation like a coat or fleece to reduce convective and/or conductive heat loss. These mylar "blankets" mostly help with the radiative part of the equation. For that they'll do. I'm not likely to use them in sub-zero conditions. Just not sure I would have paid more than a dollar a piece for them.
