Hot Racing SHS88H Heavy Duty Aluminum Servo Saver (Black)

I use these for a USA-1 with axle servo mount mods. The adapters are quite tight to fit. I took longer screws to pull them on the servo splines and then returned to the stock screws.

If you are buying this for a Traxxas Rustler then you better have a bench grinder to modify it because it isn't a direct fit due to the large top. I rounded it off at the top and narrowed it on each side and it fit perfect. Once that was done, I have to say, the strength is impressive! I'm used to modifying parts so it wasn't a big deal but if your not, then you should look for a different option.

This servo saver gets stuck when moved leaving play in steering. I took apart to see what was causing it to stick and found the spring to be getting pushed tighter and tighter every hit steering got during my first drive. Eventually I had about 50% steering and never centered. It will not move smoothly and will cause you plastic servo horns to break immediately making you think you need a metal servo as well. It’s a cycle that will burn you out on your rc car all together. Please give reviews so I don’t buy junk

There is nothing wrong with this servo saver as a component so for that, it is rated well. The issue is with this heavier component, it pushes the forces directly to the gears in the servo. Not really a servo saver unless you have a tough servo to begin with. This one is too much for the standard Traxxas high torque servo with plastic gears. It causes the internal plastic servo gears to strip, then you need to upgrade to a metal gear servo. Ironic that it's called a servo saver.
