Very good, but the "S" sounds are odd
I bought an earpiece amplifier like this for my wife. It was my Wife so I did not care about cost. Her earpiece, the volume can be adjusted via a button . This one, you have to take it out and do trial-and-error. My wife no longer uses her expensive earpiece. She lost it when we were moving. from one Indiana to Ohio in the USA. I purchased both the red and blue versions of this device because I was not sure which one was mad for my left ear and which one was made for my right ear. Turns out that the Blue one is for a left ear. I like it. For the price is does what I needed. I don't use it all the time, and it uses the same batteries my wife's expensive earpiece uses. (the yellow #10 batteries). When I received it, It was in a fine box. I am not shopping at Nordstrom when I buy a device like this, so I think this could be mad cheaper, or at least offered at a lower price, without the fancy packaging. The Box this came in was a fine white box, well fitted to the one inside so when you raised the top cover, there was a rush of air inside. It was slow to remove the cover. Inside, the first thing I saw was cards and instructions typical of this sort of device. The instructions were a fan-fold (not a book style) instructions. HOWEVER, as it turned out, I did not need them. There are few moving parts. It comes with a small plastic bag with different sized ear cups. I used the default one that was installed with it. But it comes with different sized silicone, ( I assume to be silicone... they are not rubber), ear cup interface things, so one should fit you. The one installed seemed to work well with my ear. There are also one or two ear-sax "filters". These are very tiny plastic parts... I mean VERY TINY small hollow white tubes with a plastic mesh on the side toward the ear-piece device. I do not know if you or I can order replacements for these "Ear wax filters", but I think I might need to order some because I am clumsy and I have a lot of ear-wax.The only thing I can say derogatory about this ear amplifier device is that, once I got the ear piece amplifier (as I call it) calibrated so that listening to a sound source, (my cell phone) directly in front of my face 8 inches away ... (close your eyes and listen to see if the sound is the same amplitude left-to-right with eyes closed). The only thing I can say is, that certain "S" sounds from the TV and keys clicking together sound "funny"... different. However, this ear amplifier works VERY WELL. Once I calibrated it as I said with my eyes closed. I don't use it all the time. It blocks air going into your ear. I have noticed that prolonged wear of this earpiece causes the earwax in my ear to become more soft and "gushy". So only use this for a few hours. I use it all day with no problems and take it out at night and I have no problems. But if I leave it in all the time, even over-night, my ear gets "squishy" wax. I know, that's gross, but I am just telling you what to expect.Overall, for the price I paid, and what I needed this for, it works fine. There is an issue with the "s" sounds being mashed up, but I can accommodate and tolerate that. I served 10 years in the US Navy. My hearing was perfect when I got out of the Navy. My hearing in my left ear got bad due to infections in that ear. This thing has helped me to hear better and does not cost a whole lot of money. It has worked for me. I did get the 4-year insurance policy, but I don't think it is needed. If I were to buy this again, I would not get that. They only cost $35. If it breaks in one year, just buy a new one. Up to you about the insurance.I really like this. I would recommend it and buy it again.

Hearing Aid Works
This hearing aid works. It is worth the small price paid, but it is very difficult to set the volume control. It has to be set via a small screw driver which is provided, and it took me several attempts to get it set so it will actually work without squealing constantly. However, it does still squeal if anything comes near my ear -- if I put my hand near my ear or if I place a phone near my ear, etc. The trick to using this hearing aid is to experiment with which of the rubber cups that are provided fit your ear the best, how well you are able to get the volume control set for your ear, and if you are able to keep from getting anything near it while it is in your ear. Over all, I'm glad I bought it because it is cheap and works. For me, it is much better than paying several hundred or thousands of dollars for a hearing aid the my work only slightly better. I've done that also and I do not intend to ever do it again. I am unhappy that this hearing aid was likely made by slaves in communist china. It was definitely made in China, but that is what I expected with the price being so low.

Works Well -- but not "miracle ear" brand
This works -- I will give the details below. But it is not branded "miracle ear", which is a long established company. The information above is obviously written in poor English by a Chinese speaker. They imply the brand name, but this is just a generic device from China. It is cheap and cheaply made. It works well. It may not last. For now, I am okay with it. I sure was not going to pay $3000 for anything fancy. If this fails, I may pay the small price for another. Most people with moderate hearing loss in older age have lost the higher-frequency range of hearing -- from 2000 hz to 4000 hz. This is the range of hearing that adds brightness to sound. It is the sound of wind in the trees, the higher frequency richness of music. Without that range of hearing, sounds seem muffled. Eventually speech can become harder to discern. As a doctor, I have done hearing checks, and I know I lost about 40db of hearing in my left ear in the the 2000 to 4000 hz range. (It was hit by an explosion decades ago, and damaged.) My other ear is not so bad. This device clearly amplifies that critical range of hearing from 2000 to 4000hz, perhaps by design. Setting the volume to about 1/3, what I hear is not louder or in any way annoying. But that critical range of hearing is given back by the amplification. That is all I wanted in a hearing aid. Listening to music with that range given back is really nice. I don't endorse the way this device is listed, but for the small cost it is worth a try. The batteries last up to a week. A pack of 60 from amazon costs about 15 bucks.

Try These BEFORE You Buy Hearing Aids!
Got these (L and R) for my wife, who has mild hearing loss in the range that makes it increasingly difficult for her to hear normal-volume speech in conversation, and the soundtracks of movies clearly. These were an interim attempt to avoid the high costs of actual hearing "aids"... and it seems to be a very workable solution for her! The factory set the amplifier volumes to midrange, and we had to turn it to the lowest setting, which is just right for her individual hearing loss. She also has tiny ear canals, and the supplied ear pieces assortment had a set that fit her comfortably. I am able to speak to her in a lower-than-normal volume now, and she catches every word! We also watched a movie, and she said she was able to hear and understand the talking during the entire movie... no more loud TV volume! In summary, these were a great sution for us, and they work extremely well. Just follow the simple directions for use (especially for first-use), and if you encounter any problems!
