Excellent Home theater receiver
Plenty of power. Full of options and connectivity for all your A/V components. Add your VCR, Cassette deck, multi CD/DVD player. Your 4K player for movie time. This receiver can handle it. It delivers superb surround sound for every movie. The setup mic can accommodate up to eight listening positions in your home theater. I am enjoying my movies once again. Upgraded from a slightly older Pioneer A/V receiver.Used 10 awg wire for my fronts and center speakers and 12 awg for the rest. All-in-all, really awesome 11.2 set-up for a theater like sound at home. And I never have to say, "down in front".Highly recommend this AV receiver, for a mid-sized budget.

Phenomenal Audio and Video Processing
The Denon AVR-X6700H has remarkable audio and video processing capabilities. I wish there were a way to allow for a demo, but a home video recording can never do it justice.I am using the Denon with seven large Klipsch speakers that sound even crisper, plus the 15" Klipsch 800w powered subwoofer. The Audessy microphone and software make setup seamless and easy. I did not mind the time to set up because the software does take a bit of time to fine-tune your speakers. The Denon app, on the other hand, is sluggish and is very near pointless as I am using the Logitech Harmony Hub to control the unit through the Harmony app. All of my AVR components are in another room, so I had the Harmony Hub for years. When comparing the Denon app to the Harmony App, the Denon app has many more functions to control; however, the app is frustratingly slow. I did not purchase this for the Bluetooth app, so no points off.I love the decrease in lag when switching between different video resolutions. My old receiver could take up to a minute to refresh the input; the Denon is quite snappy. The Denon AVR-X6700H is an excellent receiver hands-down that offers excellent upgradability. The next purchase will be for external amps to use the preamps on the back of the unit, although noise is hardly noticeable as-is. I do want to increase the wattage per channel because the recommended wattage is higher for my speakers, and I love crystal clear audio.I highly recommend this receiver. I hope you appreciate it as much as I do. Enjoy!

Outstanding Audio Quality (I was skeptical - read on!)
I've had a Denon AVR8503 for many years. It is in pristine condition (and for sale!). What the 5803 does not have is HDMI inputs or outputs. It is a pure Class A amplifier weighing-in at 80 pounds and produces 200 watts per channel (into seven channels). It sounds magnificent - but no HDMI. I am driving some older OHM Loudspeakers (that's a brand name) that are not real efficient (means they require some ooomph to drive them. So, after lots of hesitation and looking at the features of newer Denon products, I settled on this one (the 6700H). I'm glad I did! I was running FIOS inputs before, now everything is HDMI - and HDMI has somewhat better bandwidth than FIOS. The added bandwidth combined with some superb engineering make the 6700H sound slightly better than my 8503, even though I can tell that the 6700H is not a Class A amplifier.Long story short, I don't think you will be disappointed in this receiver. The 6700 drives my speakers flawlessly, but getting to concert level volume requires it to be working a bit harder than did the 200WPC behemoth 8503.Great job, Denon!

Don't waste your money - worst receiver I have ever owned
I ordered this item to replace a Sony AVR. It went on sale, so I ordered it in advance of receiving my new TV. TV was delayed, but when it came, I excitedly put the system together. I went through the lengthy process of setting up the receiver. My excited turned into dread as I have spent hours trying to get this receiver to work correctly.First issue - The HDMI input switches randomly from TV Audio to Phono. And I don't have anything hooked up to Phono. Contacted support. Reset to factory settings. Verified all the CEC settings were set correctly in all devices. Went through the lengthy set up process again. All seemed to be working, but then....Second issue - I lost sound on my CBL/SAT HDMI input. All sound settings are properly set. Contacted support again. Another factory reset? Sure, what else would you expect from Denon support. Still not working.Tried to return to Amazon, but because of the delay in the TV coming, I was outside of 30 day return window by 3 days. Contacted Denon to get the unit replaced. Guess what? They won't replace it, but I can take it to a repair center 2 hours away from my house. Or ship it there. This is outrageous support for a supposedly high-end AVR. I will NEVER give Denon a penny of my money again, and will go back to Yamaha, the first AVR I ever owned. So, bottom line - Denon does NOT stand behind their products. Beware spending money on anything Denon. I spent $2,500 for an AVR that is a nightmare, took up hours of my time, and continues to be a source of frustration.
