It's good when you want a compact filter housing. I made a 3-D CAD model of this and posted it on GrabCad (Pentair 158203).

Good for the price
I bought this and a 1 micron filter to remove green water from my fish tank. It worked perfectly. My issue with this housing is the ad mentioned "available with 1/4 , 3/8 , 1/2, npt connections". I didnt see any way of ordering a different thread size. Mine came with female 1/2" thread. I went to the store and bought a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. I also had to use quite a bit of Teflon tape as the 1/2" npt adapter fit very loose in the housing cap. It did not leak. All in all....it got the job done.

Not a universal fit. You need to replace head and bowl at the same time.
The clear one is easier to guage when it need replacement. Over all it works
