Final Fantasy 2 Made even better.
This game is amazingly fun, but only if you have patience. This game is TOUGH!!!!! I can't count the number of times i went into a completely open room, which is a trap where your random encounter probablility skyrockets. the story is a little freaky, but still cool. the Emperor of Palamecia has summoned Monsters from the bowels of Hell, using dark magic. A rebellion was formed, and now Firion, Guy, and Maria are on a quest to stop him. These three are your only permanent part members. Most of the others die. these include Minwu the White Wizard, a dragoon....whose name has slipped my mind, and Josef, a stong villager who would be considered a Black Belt class. Once you enter the emperors castle inside a cyclone, which threatens your home base and kill him, half of his soul goes to heaven, and becomes ruler of one of the castles, and the other half goes to Hell and conquers it. (which i don't see as possible in either case.) You find this out during the Soul Of rebirth sidequest, whn you get to play as all of the fallen characters. A great game, but a bit on the challenging side. As far as final bosses go, the dark half of the emperor's soul isn't too much to fuss about. I myself haven't faced the Light side yet. (still stuck at the beginning of the SOR sidequest. Shows you how hard it is.....]=|) The only other gripe i have is that you can't rearrange your party members.

Great Remake
I've been really enjoying this remake and unlike most games I feel like the pro's for outweigh the con's. For those of you new to FF2 the game starts out with the Empire basically rampaging all over the world and destroying your home town, your party of four escapes the carnage to immediately die... Now the real game begins; I enjoyed the combat system for the most part. The whole concept of you reap what you sow, if you use swords your swords will lvl if you use magic you gain mp if you take damage your hp grows. The issues with this however is there is no solid lvling system and at times I would have to tactically attack my own party to increase their skills. My only other gripe was the forth party member, reason being its very unconsistent, you have several forth party members come and go, so first time through can be slightly annoying if you spend time and effort upgrading their skills and gear for them to merely leave an hour or two later. In comparison to the original NES game the graphics are amazing. I got several hours of enjoyment out of this game is hope you enjoy it as well.

Loved the game!
I loved as much of the game I got to play, but unfortuantely, my PSP broke before I got to far into it. But as far as I got, gameplay was awesome, the story was great, as is every final fantasy, and the movement was awesome! I would recommend this for anyone looking into some good old retro gaming.

First time on Final Fantasy II
Okay, let me start out by saying I have played these Final Fantasy games: FF7, FF1, FF2, and currently playing FF8 (Also played FF7:Crisis core, FF7:DoC, and both DISSIDIAS). So as you can see, I haven't played many mainstream games, but out of the ones I've played, this is possibly my favorite of the mainstream series.Want to know why? The huge improvement over FF1. I also purchased FF1 for PSP, and that was the first time I played it as well. That game lacked story, and the random encounters ALWAYS came at a bad time for me. Now, comparing that to FF2, the sequel is much better. In FF2, instead of leveling up with EXP, you use the skill level-up system. With this system, your characters improve on what they use most often. Use MP often? I'll increase. Swords? They'll increase. It's like that.Leveling up HP can be a task, and for me it was neccicary to attack my own characters to level up HP; especially in the Soul of Rebirth quest. So, your characters level up on what they're best at. The same goes for spells. The more often a spell is used, the more it will level up. The difficulty in this game is how you play it. The basic enemies can be easy, so I suggest attacking your own characters near a town so you can level easy.I like the story of this game (It's like Star Wars, yes) because your characters actually TALK; unlike the first game. The basic story is that an evil emperor is destroying towns conquering the world. Your mission: Defeat him. Simple, and easy as that. But for some reason I really liked playing through the game, and the characters you meet are cool too. (Minwu FTW).Random encounters are less frequent than the first game, which for me, is a relief (Every two seconds in FF1 ANOTHER random encounter). Bosses can be easy or hard depending on if you leveled your skills. The bosses can be especially hard in SoR if you didn't level up in the main game. Also, the 20th anniversary edition includes the new Arcane Labyrinth, which is very fun if you ask me. Graphics in this game a great too, it keeps the 2-D sprite styles, but it looks great.Final Score:Graphics - 8.5/10Story - 8/10Gameplay - 7/10 (simple turn-based)Music - 7.5/10Difficulty 6.5-9/10 (Depending on how you play)Overall for me, game is: -AIf you like Final Fantasy, and haven't played FFII, get this game.

This game sucks d*ck!!
Don't ever buy this game the graphics suck and the story line sucks d*ck.Also not to mention if you die you have to start over from the beggining like the start menu and you can't skip anything. Also you are level one and the enemies are all level 20 no matter what and you instantly die and fleeing gets you killed quicker.
