Q: are these shipped with ice? they say the are heat sensitive and are shipped next day air on Allergy Research website.

The manufacturer's website says "This product is heat sensitive..." and I believe that they ship it with a freezer pack to keep it cold during transit. However, the bottle I ordered from Amazon arrived by UPS today and it was very HOT to the touch! Of course, I live in Florida and it's summer, so it's about 90+ degrees out there right now, but I just thought I'd let you know that so if you live in a hot part of the country like Florida or Arizona, etc., you might want to hold off on ordering this until the depths of winter, like January or February so it has a chance of arriving without being baked in transit.

Q: What strain of plantarum is this?

From their website: Lactobacillus plantarum (ATCC SD5209)10 Billion CFUs† Lactobacillus salivarius (ATCC SD5208)4 Billion CFUs† Lactobacillus rhamnosus (ATCC SD5217)3 Billion CFUs† †Viable cell count at the time of manufacture. Other ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, FOS, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid.

Q: Is this refrigerated prior to shipment?

We refrigerate it and ship with cold pack and insulated package.
