Convenient, easy to use, works great!
Have used Green Gobbler for years to keep my cesspool going. Love the convenience of a tiny little pod to just drop in flush once and leave overnight. Beats the former method of emptying a box of granular that stuck to the toilet, and look like old oatmeal.

Works!
Great product. It keeps our drains and pipes open and running smooth and it's septic safe. Just pop one in the toilet once per month.

Meh.
I've been treating the tank first with this then later Septic Shock after the tank backed up. Little did I know I'd probably overloaded the tank. Too much of everything, paper, hair, grease, you name it. Once, the tank backed up, I switched to a pod per week instead of per month. It helped somewhat at first but didn't come near to solving the problem. The most obvious lack was the speed of the treatment in general. Once I switched to the Septic Shock (to be fair this is designed to treat backed up tanks) progress was much more rapid. But then it stalled for months. The next break was accidental. First I poured an extremely sugary barbecue sauce down the drain instead of composting, and i switched to Borax as a laundry additive and abruptly the flow increased. In a parched landscape it suddenly. looked like a mini Eden right over the tank and leach field. Borax is known to be better at dissolving grease than baking soda (previou laundry additive). And of course sugar feeds everything out there. I suspect either the Green gobbled and/or Septic shock was stymied by grease. It's still to early to say if it's just the borax or just the sugar or if both are needed to help support bacterial treatments.Update: Green Gobbler does not work on hair. Says so right in the fine print. Sadly, I have a lot of hair. According to my neighbor the retired master plumber, hair forms a net and catches absolutely everything thus creating a plug. Also, according to many professional septic tank specialists, hair is really hard for any treatment. It will be the slowest to decompose. To get rid of the final obstacle in the leach field I had to use Septic Shock for six months and then Bio-Clean for another six months (both do treat hair) before the final last barrier seem to dissolve. I've called customer service to try and figure out if I was doing something wrong but they said I was right on track.
