Exactly What You're Looking For To Replace Lack Of Headphone Jack On Newer Phones
First, lets clarify something. I'm not sure why other people are complaining so much in some reviews. This adapter does exactly what it is supposed to do. It replaces the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack on newer phones and provides a way to charge your phone at the same time. The product description clearly states that it won't fit if you have a very thick case on your device. This is nothing new in the small electronics device world. Suck it up buttercup. If your device case is an issue, and preventing you from using this product in the way it is intended, get a new case. The product itself is fantastic! It fits securely in the USB-C receptacle of my Samsung S22 Ultra, with a mild but positive click. There is no setup involved. You simply plug in your phones or IEM's and off you go.This brings us to the audio quality. It's simply outstanding, far surpassing my expectations. Either by using a decent DAC chip or building a proper circuit around that chip, or both, it has plenty of juice to drive ant IEM and likely most low ohm headphones to sufficient loudness levels. Paired with a good app like Poweramp, you are in business. I'm very impressed that such a small investment provides this much performance. Do not be swayed by the negative reviews, and obvious personal issues that are a "one-off" situation, with individuals who have unrealistic expectations for a product that goes for under $20.00.If you want a very decent DAC/USB-C to 3.5mm converter, and don't need additional amplification to drive headphones, these are the answer.I would buy this again over and over if I were to lose mine.I don't know what kind of longevity I'll get from this product, but it feels solid.Cable Creations builds other high quality items that I use in other parts of my personal device instruments, digital audio workstation, and home studio. They always have mainstream and difficult to find gear, with value and performance that exceeds my expectations at a price that beats the competition. Go for it.

Works great!
I've tried several different types and have always had issues with the sound going in and out. I've had this one for several months and it works great! No issues, clear sound.

Only works with bare phone
Unable to fully seat it into the C port of my iPhone due to thickness of plastic protective surround. Had to order a short USB-C extension to use it to port input into my legacy truck stereo. Otherwise works well, compact, reduces tangle in console.

This worked for a day, then … not. Don’t buy it. Trust me.
First time I had used this,I had plugged it in to my MacBook Pro(the version which only has two Type C USB ports, literally no other inputs/outputs/ports whatsoever),and I split one of the USB type C ports, to two,and I plugged into the two ports it created, both:• my iPhone 12 mini charging cord (usb type C —> lightning cable that came with the iPhone),• my Apple Watch series 7 41mm MagSafe charging cable,And it worked perfectly. Both charged, simultaneously, ideally.BUT,Then,A day later,I got home from work and I plugged it in the same way, not having changed anything with the power to the MacBook Pro(constantly charging, power input to the other USB-C port on the MacBook Pro itself, being the only other port available),Everything just the same as when I first tried this adapter, when it worked, the first day,And I woke up for another 13-hr day of work(psychiatric institution as a direct care specialist),andwhile one of this adapter’s charging products (the Apple Watch series 7) was completely charged, the other port on this adapter(my iPhone, also plugged in, just the same as day one, which had worked fine, on day one, of using this adapter)hadn’t charged any of my phone.I was almost late to work, for the first time ever (in years of working there), just from having the distraction of having to charge and also use my iPhone, which this adapter did not charge overnight.I fiddled with it all morning, to no avail, and to the point wherein I had to actually unplug this product (adapter/splitter) from my MacBook, and plug my iPhone directly into the port on my MacBook, completely eliminating the splitter / adapter from my MacBook — and alas, my iPhone charged just fine.TL;DR:While this adapter worked ideally at first,It failed to continue do what it did on night one of using it, no longer working with both ports charging both my devices like it did on night one of using it, as soon as using it on night 2.Worked at first, failed by day 2.I want a refund, but I don’t have the time to go to any place to return it, nor did I save (or do I have) the original packaging (since I tossed the packaging as it worked on day one, assuming it would work on day two).I don’t remember the last time I gave anything a one star review. I always give the vendor the benefit of the doubt. But where there is no benefit, and it doesn’t work, there is nothing but doubt, I.e. this adapter is useless upon day two, hence my detailed and clear discussion of the chronology of my personal experience when using it.It isn’t reliable, in any way.And now upon looking at other reviews, it appears I am not the only one who faced such unfortunate dismay, using this product.Initially works, very quickly fails.Waste of money, waste of trust in the product — ntm, from having to fiddle with it until I had to face the fact that it is a dud product, it nearly caused a domino effect of me being late to work for the first time ever, when I have an entirely clear, spotless record, of working at my job, for 1.5+ years time. It has caused me issues beyond being worthless. It isn’t worth trusting. If only the manufacturer would test their product previous to marketing it, then perhaps it would be worth it, since it doesn’t even work after the first day. Plenty of other reviews show this, clearly, as well.Don’t buy this. Don’t rely on this. And especially don’t believe my personal experience with it is a “one-off.” Clearly I’m not the only one.Others who made 5-star reviews…clearly didn’t wait a few days before reviewing it. I would have given it 5 stars just as well, if it worked on day 2, like it did on day 1.What a bummer.

Renders Full Sound Experience While Charging Device
I've bought this multiple times and never been disappointed. Recently I purchased a set of ear buds and a much cheaper DAC adapter to keep in my travel bag. Upon receipt, I decided to test them and was sorely disappointed by the anemic sound quality. I hadn't expected what I have at home with my expensive 1more ear buds but it was down right unacceptable. So, I swapped the cheap DAC adapter for my usual Cable Creations DAC adapter and the sound came back to acceptable listening 🎶 quality for the price point of the ear buds in question. I then ordered this Cable Creations DAC adapter to use as my travel DAC. Believe me when I tell you the DAC is as important as the ear phone. Don't go cheap on the DAC. I do recommend this product. Also, I did test this adapter and found it as great as all my others.

Works well, eats battery
Sound quality is very good, but the unit heats up and chews through the battery.I chose this product because of the profile. The wire based dongles with standard USB-C plug wasn't very convenient and I kept bumping it. This stays connected well and doesn't get jostled as much. The connector fits into my Pixel 9 with an OtterBox case with no trouble. The sound quality is good. I just wish it didn't massacre my battery life.
