My Favorite Water Bottle!
This is my second Contigo Ashland water bottle. My boyfriend bought my first many years ago and I've been using it ever since. I decided it was time to replace it so I started looking at more expensive bottles. I've looked at so many bottles but I keep coming back to the Ashland. It's simple and perfect! It looks great and I love the pop up straw/button. It's also super easy to clean. All the parts disconnect easily so you can wash it by hand or throw it in the dishwasher while making sure every part gets clean. My favorite feature is the clip-on handle. The handle lets you carry the bottle with just one or two fingers or you can clip it on to your backpack strap. It also allows me to slip on my keys and pepper spray onto the handle so they are immediately available to me. This is great bottle for hiking, running, or just everyday use. It's a great bottle at a great price. So far, the Ashland is still my favorite.

WOW, AWESOME!
Full disclosure, I wasn't looking for a water bottle and didn't even want to purchase this brand but it was on an Amazon lighting sale for $6 and I figured maybe for $6 I will drink more water by having this with me all the time. Upon arrival and use, this may be the best money I have spent on Amazon. It has a super cool Transformer type closing and opening mechanism. I love the built in straw, no more tipping your head back and lifting the bottle to drink now its a simple sipping, and the bottle looks great and holds 24 oz, so I probably drink about 48-72 ounces of water that I would never drink if I didn't carry this around all day. I cannot imagine a better water bottle under $20 and I would give this 5 star without hesitation. I just got the product last week so I will update if something breaks or there are issues but this is awesome out of the box.

The perfect gym/workout water bottle!
For me, this is the perfect gym/workout bottle. I’ll include my personal criteria, and how this bottle stacks up. If you have the same or similar criteria, this may be your perfect bottle as well.Material: Most gyms and even some other public places now have water bottle quick fill capable water fountains. For that reason, and because I like to be able to visually see how much is in my bottle, for me, metal was out. Needs to be see through. That leaves glass and BPA free plastic. I worry about glass breaking, so plastic is my choice. This bottle is transparent, even the colors, and is BPA free. Five stars.Fill line markings. I prefer a bottle with at least a few level markings. This bottle is marked at 8, 16, and 24 ounces. This is perfect because it aligns with the Fitbit app’s standard quick update amounts. Total capacity of the bottle is 24 ounces. Five stars.I prefer a bottle that I don’t have to tip up, so that means a straw type bottle. The trade off is that with any straw type bottle, there is always some at the bottom that you can’t get out. So I wanted a straw type that (1) had a straw that reached farthest, and (2) naturally tilts toward the “front”of the bottle, and (3) flows liquid freely without effort and without having to gnaw on the straw. The “hump” back bottle that I had previously did not meet this criteria and was a chore to sip from. This bottle nailed it. Five stars.Tip: Some have mentioned (1) difficulties with sipping, and/or (2) the straw randomly spitting out liquid. The trick to eliminating both issues is to (1) fully tighten lid, then (2) untighten lid just ever so slightly. I’m talking less than 10% of a full turn. This releases just enough pressure to eliminate both issues. Trust me, problems solved.Easy carry. This bottle has a non protruding handle of the perfect size and angle, and has a hinged section to allow for clipping on to various things. Five stars.I prefer a lid that allows for hiding away the straw. This bottle does so with a simple push into a “trap door”and a simple release button. There is even a lock to keep it from opening. I typically don’t carry water in my bottle when it’s in a bag. Just not worth the risk when it’s easy to fill it when I get where I’m going. So I can’t attest to the bottle’s spill proof quality. For me, five stars.Easy to clean. The bottle itself is super easy to clean and fill. The lid is no easier and no more difficult to clean than any other I’ve tried. A little effort, but that’s one of the downsides to a straw type bottle. Three stars.Fit and finish. The bottle seems fairly tough and I expect it will last. It’s available in several colors, and is sure to come in your personal favorite color. Bottle, five stars. Amazon, 1 star. I ordered this with, and it shipped with a few other items including a metal file. The Amazon packer just threw it all in the same box, so needless to say, the bottle and the lid both arrived with a few scratches from rattling around in a box with a couple of metal files. Good one Amazon! Annoying, but I didn’t bother with a return, since it was cosmetic only, and does not impact usage or reduce lifespan. If this matches your criteria, give it a try, but order it alone, and not with metal files and you should be fine. And remember to use it with the lid just barely untightened. It will still work, won’t spit, but won’t leak or spill.

Alright so far
So far this has worked as expected. There have been two items that were unexpected. The spout will flip a bit of water in your face when it's launched from the stored position. I've taken to launching it so that the inevitable spray is parallel to my body. The second is that the little valve that lets air in is a bit stiff. This means that when you get down to the last quarter it wont open unless you are taking a particular large sip so it'll try to suck your tongue down the spout. Upside is that it is unlikely to leak.

Sleek, sturdy, and great features
I have so many water bottles sitting idle in my kitchen cupboard. But they are all either too fat or bulky or flimsy. But when I got the Contigo bottle, I finally found something ideal for my needs and persnickety preferences. #1 -- It's so sleek. My hand easily wraps around it, and it fits snugly in the cup holder in my car without topping over. #2 -- It's a good size. I have found larger capacity bottles too cumbersome, and smaller capacity bottles require too many refills. #3 -- I love the locking mechanism which prevents leaks if the bottle is jostled or knocked over. #4 -- I love the collapsable spout. This makes the bottle easier to drink from, and more hygienic when it's in my tote bag (or on the nightstand when my curious cats are poking around. #5 -- I love the carrying handle/ring with the toggle clip. Super-easy to spontaneously hook onto a tote bag strap. #6 -- I love the colors! So far I have bought one for myself, my husband, and two of my sisters. Everybody loves them.

No leaks, travels well
I now have two of these, and take one to work with me everyday to help me drink water throughout the day. I've never had it leak, and it's nice that you can wash in the dishwasher (and that the straw can be undone from the top for additional cleaning if needed). Once slight issue - every now and then when you open the spout, water will spurt out. I noticed it multiple times after I left it in my car for awhile. I searched and figured out what was happening - pressure/temperatures changes can cause that. But if you twist the lid just a little to release the pressure and close it again, you should be good. Overall, a very nice bottle!
