Lego Star Wars 75087 Anakins Custom Jedi Starfighter

A fun set, with some unique pieces and really nice colors. The model isn't too large, but manages to maintain nice proportions and should be good fun for kids to play with. Nice to see Lego making some fan-service pieces, especially so long after the cartoon this is from originally aired. For the price, this is definitely worth grabbing.

I mainly purchase LEGO (especially Star Wars) for the minifigures.I don't much care for the sets based around The Clone Wars TV series, since the minis look rather... ridiculous to say the least.But when I saw this set, I knew I had to get it because this is the only time Asajj Ventress has appeared outside of The Clone Wars sets. This one fits with the rest of my collection much better than the other ones do.The ship itself is a fun build too. Those familiar with the old Clone Wars series (the 2D one, animated by the same guys who did Samurai Jack) will recognize this as Anakin's custom Delta 7B Aethersprite "Azure Angel", and the astromech within to be R4-P22. Though both the ship and R4-P22 were destroyed in this interaction with Ventress, he did get an upgrade to the yellow starfighter we see in Revenge of the Sith.As for outside the Expanded Universe, I believe this is the ship Admiral Ackbar pilots during The New Order era. Though his astromech is not seen during his usage of the ship, he does use the protocol droid C-3PO in the astromech slot.But that is within the LEGO Star Wars canon, so most likely rule of funny applies.

Kids love the kit and use it to create multiple different types of "Star Fighters".

I was a huge fan of the 2D animated clone wars shorts on Cartoon Network and was pleased to see they made a set from it. I purchased this on sale when it was closer to the original retail price of ~$40 I would recommend this set.

I had to exchange it. It was a gift and the person already had it.
