Awesome Stuff - A few things to be attentive of
This stuff was so awesome. I have brown hair and used the red manic panic color. It looked so pretty and even. I went to a costume party over the weekend and everyone loved my hair. They thought I actually dyed it! Lol. I see people saying it doesn't cover much, and I could see that if you're using it by itself. I hair 2 feet of hair, it reaches my butt. I bought 3 bottles because of suggestions from reviewers. I ended up only needing 1/2 a bottle of this stuff to cover all of my hair. I mixed it as 2 parts leave in conditioner and 1 part hair color. It worked great! I left my hair up still wet that night and the next day, oh my gosh, it was so red!! I styled it before the party that night and it looked so pretty! I washed my hair afterwards and my hair completely washed out the red, which is what I was mostly worried about. So my tips to you, instead of buying 2-3 bottles, just mix it with leave in conditioner or similar hair product. It goes a looong way. Also just a heads up, if you touch your hair, your fingers will be the hair color. So try not to touch it. I was messing with my hair all day at school and work before the party and it looked like I was eating Cheetos all day :P Good luck and have fun with this!

Worked OK
I have long dark hair and it didn't color it as well as I wanted it to. I still have to use spray coloring as well. If I would've paid attention to the bottle size I would've bought 2 instead of just the one. It makes your hair stiff but it did come out very easy and didn't dye my skin or anything.

Colored hair gel, not just dye
First off, this is not just hair color - it's colored styling gel. Hence "Dye Hard." That's why there are so many reviewers complaining about their hair texture being "straw-like" after using this product. After reading some of the reviews detailing different methods of application, though, I purchased the Raven Black, figuring I could manage to make it suit my needs.I have very blonde hair, so it was important to me that the black would cover the blonde, but also wash out with shampoo. I applied the hair dye directly after a shower while my hair was still wet. It helped to stay in the shower, as I didn't have to worry so much about getting dye all over the place. Using gloves, I ran it through my hair root-to-tip, making sure to get all the way down to my scalp. Once I finished applying the black, I rinsed any excess dye off my skin and off the tub/shower area; this is very easy to do with just warm water. I then used a blow-dryer and combed through my hair, to try to ensure a soft, non-straw-like texture. This worked and didn't at the same time; combing through does remove any excess dye and give hair a softer texture, but it also pulled some of the black away from my hair, exposing some of the blonde and leaving my hair looking grey-ish. It did wash out completely with two rounds of shampoo, though, which was a relief.I gave this product 4 stars because I was pretty impressed with how well it did, even despite the fact that I was using it in a different way than it was intended. The end result was okay, but not exactly what I was looking for. If you have long/ish hair and are looking to dye it without that straw-like side effect, I'd suggest you use a different product - especially if your current hair color is vastly different than the temporary color you're going for (e.g. blonde to black -_- )

Great for temporary color
Loved this! Swear by manic panic for fun colors, so decided to try this for a Halloween costume. It was exactly what we needed. My son has blonde hair and I was afraid it get stuck green, washed right out!!!

I wanted red hair for Halloween and was coming up ...
I wanted red hair for Halloween and was coming up short with products. I looked at hair chalk, which looked really messy and not effective for dark hair. Then, I tried some spray in I purchased at Sally. That was a MESS, After reading some reviews on this, I decided to give it a shot. After washing my hair, I towel dried until slightly damp (next time I think I would just apply dry). With rubber gloves, I squirted this into my hands and put it on layer by layer, constantly comb my hair to keep it from tangling. This makes your hair a bit straw-like when it is on so it will become a knotted mess if you don't continue to comb it. Also, toward the end, I realized I could just squirt this on the comb and run that through my hair. That is definitely the way to go to get the most even distribution. This stuff showed up on my dark hair. It was very apparent in sunlight. At night, it is not as noticeable, but I could still tell in pictures. I have hair down to my collarbone and could have survived on one tube. Since I already had a second, I went ahead and used part of it.

LOVE! Perfect for blondes!
I was looking for a temporary color for my Harley Quinn costume, but my biggest concern was that it would leave color or tint my hair which i get highlighted blonde, and as most ladies who dye or highlight their hair know, it's not cheap. But i thought I'd give it a try. I started with two very small test patches, one in pink and one in blue, and made sure to get both my natural color and a piece of highlighted hair. i left it on for an hour to dry and then hopped in the shower. Sure enough it came right out! No left over color or tint what so ever. When the day came to do my entire Harley Quinn outfit I curled the ends of my hair and put the color in, even my curls stayed for the most part, then i simply let the gel dry and gently combed through my hair to achieved a "non-gel" look. Worked perfectly for me!I agonized over so many different products so hopefully this review helps other blondes!

Does not work on dark hair
I did have faith that it might be effective on dark hair, but unfortunately it does not. My hair is a very very dark brown, and you could not see any green whatsoever. I can’t speak to its effectiveness on other hair types, however.
