Disclaimer: I am not in any way associated with any brand of green tea manufacturer or seller.The following is a list of bagged green tea I have tried followed by my rating from 1.0 to 5.0 (5.0 being best):Salada = 1.0 (Probably the worst green tea I have ever had, extremely bitter, low quality green tea, lacking potency, I do not recommend)Bigelow = 1.5 (Several varieties available at most grocery stores, overpriced, lacking quality, lacking flavor, lacking potency, just plain lacking)Celestial Seasonings = 2.5 (Several varieties available at most grocery stores, overpriced, low quality green tea with pleasant side flavors, lacking potency)Bentley's = 3.0 (Really hard to find, usually overpriced, medium quality green tea, slightly bitter overpowering the side flavors, would be a 4.0 but it is not 100% natural)Yogi = 3.5 (Several varieties available, pricey, medium quality green tea with noticeably pleasant side flavors)Tazo = 4.0 (Kind of hard to find locally, pricey, medium quality green tea with extremely pleasant side flavors)Healing Teas of the World = 4.0 (Hard to find locally, fair price, 100% natural, high quality pure green tea with strong but pleasant side flavors)Kirkland = 4.5 (Available at Costco, great price, 100% natural, high quality pure green tea, best tasting earthy flavor with tiny hint of sweetness, slightly lacking in potency or I would give a 5.0)Yamamotoyama = 5.0 (Hard to find locally, great price, 100% natural, high quality pure green tea, quite delicious earthy flavor, extremely potent and effective)Conclusion: If you know what green tea is supposed to taste like and the effect it is supposed to have on the body and mind (potency), then you probably shouldn't waste your money on anything I have rated lower than a 4.5. If you are looking for a more herbal-style tea flavor, then go with something I have rated in the range of 2.0 to 4.0 and you will most likely be pleased. This is a known product for me; I’ve been drinking it for years. This is my favorite tea-bag green tea. I even drink this at tennis changeovers instead of water.I’ve served this to Japanese friends that like this as well.If you like sencha but sometimes don’t want to fuss with loose tea, try this!

Great tea. The toasted rice flavoring is amazing.

This tea has an authentic green tea flavor, much like the Kirkland Signature Green Tea Matcha Blend 100% Japanese Tea. Priced at $.17/bag, it doesn't get much cheaper for tea with this kind of good flavor, but there is a $6 shipping charge through Amazon. The Kirkland tea is $.20/bag, but shipping is free. Also, their bags are nylon, not biodegradable. The Yamamoto bags are each in lined pouches, and they are also packed in sets of 10 bags, so you can grab a set to go if you want to. I highly recommend this tea.Update 2012: I'm glad to see Amazon now offers Super Shipper Savings for this tea. However, I would continue to buy it, regardless of shipping cost, because it is one of the best green tea in bags I've tried, with a great price.

After reading through a bunch of reviews on this tea and other green teas, I was excited to order this brand and was anxiously awaiting its arrival. I just switched over to drinking tea from being a 4-6 cup of coffee a day drinker. I have had some other green tea and liked the flavor. The packages are nice - foil and sealed. The tea bags have a tag on them. I steep the tea and all I can smell is fish. It reminds me of the water that comes out of a lobster when you cook it in water. Yuck! I thought it was just the one cup, so I tried to make it again. Now that I was aware of the smell, I could smell it on the tea bag. I still made another cup and it still smells fishy. So, I made my husband a cup and made him smell it. He says it smells like fish too, but that it tastes okay. For me, if something smells bad, I can not stomach drinking or eating it. Tea drinking is relaxing. Drinking this tea is not. All I do is keep sniffing to see if the smell is really there. I don't know if was a bad batch or what. Just very disappointed.

Compared this with Ito En Oi Ocha, and I strongly prefer Ito En. It's not a bad green tea, but Ito En is better.

Mellow flavor and good health benefits, I feel energized after drinking a three cup serving. Will order more to be sure it is not a placebo effect.I did order more and maybe it is just me but after a few weeks of drinking this daily, 2 bags to a 3 cup serving I began to react with severe abdominal cramps. I had visited the doctor and he had no explanation. I was off work for the holidays and was to lazy to brew this for a few days. After the few days my cramps disappeared, I have been off of this brand now since the holidays and back to my old store bought for now, needless to say I will not experiment to see if it was the actual culprit, just saying is all.

I'm not an expert, but I've been getting green tea from the East for a little while, and this didn't impress me.And, it's from the US.Ok, I guess, but I feel ripped.Update: Not so ripped (did I really say that) anymore. I was sick with the flu recently, and guess what, I found this tea in my cupboard.'Had to re-read the directions, but with honey, this IS the smoothest green tea I've had (probably without honey, too). And it has it's own flavor, something I can't put my finger on, that I now prefer.I've been taking it to work since, and enjoying the taste, and the green tea healing qualities .. whether they're psychosomatic or not! :)
