how else do you retrieve a magnetic stir bar? this is a lab staple

It's a great stick, but a poor retriever.
Very weak magnet. This will be better suited for very lightweight stir bars that are in something with a low viscosity. I used it to retrieve a 2oz bar and this retriever left it behind.

Works fine, somewhat weak magnet
The magnet picks up up to 2.5 inch spin bars and drops anything larger

I wish it had a stronger magnet
I use this to extract Bel-Art Cross Spinplus Magnetic Stirrers from beakers with honey in them. It takes a little patience because the magnet in the Retriever is not very strong, and the honey is thick. Other than that though, it works well, and is easy to clean.

An exceptionally weak magnet for such a high price and a complete waste of $.

Setting up new wine lab and this spinbar retriever seems to work really well. Will buy more in the future.
