Attractive model, but be careful....
If you can handle building a High Grade Gundam Model Kit, then this will be a little bit more challenging. The parts are very fragile. I destroyed a fence rail cause I pushed it in too hard and it was a pain to super glue it together as the rails are microscopic. While painting Usopp's back, I placed it flat down on the table and accidently crushed his long nose. The characters were extremely hard to paint, I managed to do it with the bit fat tip Gundam markers cause I was careful enough, but you really need fine tip. The decals on the small flag was easy enough to place but the strawhat symbol on the main mast requires some skill as it is not a flat mast. You will need to use a Q-tip to press the decal to fill the mast lines so that it looks real. Try not to redo it repetitively because I was aiming for perfection so I had to dip the whole mast into water to release the decal, but after about three tries the decal will weaken and rip. This item provides stickers as an alternative to decals, but the difference in realism from using decals is obvious. Most of the doors come unpainted, so the painting must be done before the assembly. I rushed into building then paint, and it was impossible to disassemble without destroying the amazing ship. Most of the characters cannot stand alone nor do they have a mechanism to attach on the stand that was given. Since the stand ends up being just a square of plastic, I ended up just gluing the characters directly onto the ship because the stand covers too much of the ships area to make the ship look good.

The Best Ship On The Grand Line!
Being a One Piece fan I just had to get a model ship of The Thousand Sunny as well as The Going Merry. My review for the Sunny and the Merry will probably be very similar so if you want to check that out you can but it isn't necessary. I haven't put them together yet.Now getting to my review I would like to point out that there is an option to paint. It isn't required because it does come with stickers to put on the Sunny but I almost would recommend painting it because it'll be leaving out a lot of detail if you don't. The stickers just cover the basic stuff. You could totally just put it together and toss it on your shelf and it'd still look fine if you really wanted too. I'm probably going take the time to paint it. This kit does come with a manual but it's unfortunately all in Japanese. There are pictures that show you what to do and how to put it together so that's a plus. Because I want to paint it I had to do some digging and I did find the translation for the painting part and I have provided a picture for you all if you want to paint it as well. The kit also comes with TINY figures of the crew. I took a picture of them next to a quarter to help you see the size difference. Because I have yet to put this together I can't tell you for certain how big it will turn out. It almost looks like it may end up being smaller than The Going Merry model. Which kind of bugs me because it's suppose to be bigger. I also provided a picture of the base of both boats. Again I have yet to put either of these models together because I still need to get the paint for them so I could be wrong about how big the finished product will be.I really don't have much of a review for this product yet because I haven't put it together or painted it yet so once I am able to do that I will edit my review and I'll have more pictures of it so you can see it finished.

One Piece Thousand Sunny Model
This is a great product for fans of the One Piece Series. The instructions are in Japanese but the pictures that go along with it are easy enough to follow. The only trouble I had with assembling it was applying the decals to the sail and flags. It was fun to put together and took about 10 hours from start to finish so the fun lasted a while. The finished boat looks very nice and currently sits a top my shelf where I have my collection of the manga and anime. The miniatures (the characters and smaller ships) are pretty small and come un-painted so, I haven't tried painting them yet. I assume that I will have difficulty painting them because I haven't painted many figures. In terms of durability, I did not break anything while putting it together so I don't think anyone else will have a problem putting it together safely. I don't think it could survive me stepping on it though or being thrown across the room. But, if it falls from its place on my shelf, I think it will be fine. Once again, I think this is a great product for a fan of the series.

Great price. I enjoyed painting the ship
Great price. I enjoyed painting the ship. Some of the pieces are extremely small, especially the figures. It's practically impossible to take some things apart after snapping it together, so let that be a warning. The only part I had trouble keeping snapped on was the large sail. Mine keeps falling off. If painting with acrylics, I would suggest putting down a base so that the paint will stick. Since this is plastic, it'll scratch off if you don't. I had kind of a hard time applying the larger decals. I ripped the first one, but luckily it comes with two. I'm not sure if one was meant to go on the other side. It's a bit labor intensive (especially including painting) so I'm not sure if I'd recommend this for a younger kid. The manufacturer recommends 15 years and older. I think this is a great model kit for One Piece fans.

pretty good
the plastic felt pretty sturdy aside from the really small parts, it was pretty straightforward to put together despite the instructions being in japanese, and the level of detail is pretty good, so for like $50 id say its worth getting
