This grinder works great. does exactly what it says. I ground some steak into steak burgers & it was really quick & easy. have only used it twice so far, but since it has very powerful motor, metal gearbox instead of plastic, steel gear, stainless blade & meat cutting sizer & aluminum coating on everything else I don't think I'll have any problems. If you cut the meat in long skinny strips, you can just drop them in & it grabs them & self feeds through the grinder without the need to push them through with the white pusher. doesn't bog down or clog.

This is a wonderful grinder and it was very reasonably priced!! I was able to grind 10 lbs of beef for making jerky, in under 5 minutes. It is very powerful and thorough. I have also ground about 8 lbs of pork for sausage with no problems at all. Also I want to mention that the seller is awesome! I made the mistake of washing the parts in the dishwasher because there was nothing on the box or any of the manuals stating that the parts were not dishwasher safe. All of the parts turned a horrible blackish gray color and the black would rub off on your hands. No way was I going to put my food through it in that condition. I notified the seller and he was kind enough to have new parts delivered to me from China!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! So this is a WARNING TO ANYONE WANTING TO BUY THIS WONDERFUL GRINDER. DO NOT PUT THE PARTS IN THE DISHWASHER!! PLEASE HAND WASH IN HOT SOAPY WATER ONLY!! This was an awesome purchase!! :o)

I grind about 25lbs. of pork loin every 10 days. Does a great job and never gets bound up. I find that I have to cut the pork into smaller pieces than with my old machine. The pork gets stuck in the tube because it narrows at the bottom. The auger doesn't bind, just the tube. It is also very noisy.

We recently adopted sibling kittens from a litter that had been abandoned the day they were born. Our dogs' groomer fostered (and bottle fed) the litter until they were ready, and in her shop she sells natural pet products. She got me hooked on the raw food diet and pine pellet kitty litter. But sustaining the expense of feeding raw food to two growing kittens was becoming a concern.I found the Feline Nutrition website, which has a great recipe for raw cat food. The recipe is fantastic, but the grinder they recommended was... well, we would never be able to spend that kind of money to make pet food. I didn't have much hope that we'd find a 1 hp meat grinder that could handle chicken thigh bones, but in reading the reviews it seemed like maybe this one could.I got my unit Friday, bought the chicken and other ingredients and spent Saturday learning the entire process. It was my first time, so it was a long day - but I learned so much! I'm happy to report this meat grinder performed extremely well. It chewed up the bones, but did leave the white joint caps behind in the auger. I didn't know what to expect regarding noise level - but it wasn't too bad. The components are very easy to install, very easy to clean, and I love that the cord and discs can fit into a compartment in the back of the unit.The instruction booklet was fine, but I was confused by the instruction to use vegetable oil before first use. It didn't give any indication of where the vegetable oil should be applied. I applied oil to the components that seemed logical - the ones accessible to me. I didn't have any problems. I don't think that's worth deducting points for.I would also like to thank the seller for their decision to cancel my first order. At first I was afraid they were just jacking up the price. Not so! The unit was damaged at the shipping location, apparently, and they canceled the order and asked me to re-order if I still wanted the item. The price was the same when I re-ordered, and I received extremely prompt shipping. I'm so thankful I didn't receive a broken unit, and have 12 lbs of chicken thighs sitting around waiting for a working meat grinder.I'll be doing this food production routine once a month, and I will update this review should anything change to make me less positive. For now, I'm thrilled to have found an affordable alternative to the high priced unit the Feline Nutrition website recommended.

We have been using this for several months now and its working great. We grind quail to make dog and cat food.

I got this SM-G50 to make raw cat food, the other recommended models were either discontinued or three times the price, so I decided to take a chance on the (relatively) low price option and see where that leaves me.The setup is simple, the noise is about the same as from an electric coffee grinder, and it makes short work of chicken, including skin and bones.Full disclosure: I did break the bones up into smaller pieces with the Bowie knife before feeding them into the grinder and cut the skin into bits.Applying very gentle pressure with the plastic pusher, everything goes through nice and smooth and pretty quickly.I recommend removing kitty from the scene during the process, especially the cutting of the meat.......

It has a small chute.Opening where you put the meat in could be a bit bigger.And it’s loud.The noise is obnoxious.Kind of annoying.But it grinds well enough.I’m an old butcher so I guess I’m spoiled.

I've been using this grinder since November and it worked like a dream. I've used it to grind beef, chicken, deer etc. and it has had no problems. Then all of a sudden it stops working, the motor blew on it and now when it starts it immediately stops and makes a horrendous sound. Upon inspection it appears my attachment doesn't fit correctly and it grinds against the metal which eventually causes the attachment to spin around on its own too.I've been attempting for two weeks to get hold of them to use my one year warranty, no luck. The manufacturer is from China and when attempting any other the provided emails my email didn't send. I contacted the HomePlus Store three times with no response either.I'll say again, great grinder but awful service and therefore definitely don't buy from here. Go to Home Depot, Walmart or Lowes where you'll get far better customer service and the warranty will actually be held up.I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying this grinder.
