Excellent, well designed, and especially great for cutting your own hair.
I have used the AirCut almost since it's inception around 2009. It is very well designed. It is lightweight with a modular cutting head and is very easy to position to cut your own hair. It comes with a very generous length of power cord and has the added advantage of using a power brick which has it's own cord so plugging into the wall is easy. Just position the power brick at a convenient location. From the power brick they use a very flexible and thin DC power cord going directly to the unit as opposed to a heavy AC cord. Essentially, it feels like a wireless unit when you are using it. The DC cord is very long. The AirCut is easy to maintain and is very consistent in cutting. You can cut your own hair when you want at a big savings. I initially bought two units, one as a backup and they have lasted me over 15 years. That has been a lot of haircuts. I just bought my third unit for peace of mind.

Good but not great
While it is a good product with a good idea, the fact that it has it's own vacuum system means it is not very powerful and thus it is not as good at pulling in the wavy or curly hair. Also the very narrow opening and attachment source makes it even harder for wavy hair to fully find a way to extend to the blade. I've used the flowbee for many years and it has finally broken so, now I'll just try the newer model to see how it compares but the design seems similar, just with the use of a more powerful vacuum. The AirCut seems to be more fitting for wispy or thin straight hair. My hair is medium thickness and curly and it didn't give me great results as I could see the hair curved in the compartment and wouldn't straighten out to reach the blade, so half made it and half didn't.

Unfortunately too good to be true
I was hoping this would get my son’s hair cut quickly. He’s autistic and HATES haircuts. He hates the hair falling onto him. He hates strangers touching him. He hates how long it takes me to scissor cut, because I’m self taught. I was hoping this would solve all of that. Unfortunately, it did not. He didn’t mind the noise as long as I let him wear earbuds. It’s definitely loud and scary, so I was surprised. It did keep the hair contained, but the filter had to be emptied so often that it took forever. The cut was uneven and blunt. The vacuum wasn’t strong enough to suck up his hair where it’s the thickest on top. I ended up having to scissor cut all of it after using this anyway, because it was so uneven. What sucks worse is the short return window. You only get to try it once before deciding if you like it, because nobody’s hair is going to grow back fast enough to use it again before the return window closes. Maybe it takes some learning to get used to, but I’m not risking keeping this expensive gadget to find out that it still doesn’t work well. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I don’t.

This product AirCut is absolutely AMAZING!
Honestly, had it not been for this corona I never would have tried or considered trying to cut my own hair. In fact, from the time hair stylists opened for men (not barber shops) stylists I went to them. Over the years I paid more and more for a stylist to wash, cut and style my still thick full head of hair. Although I did end up paying $45+ for a salon cut it wasn't a money issue at all why I tried this it was solely due to I needed my haircut and found nobody to cut it that was open in my area. Well to my incredible surprise this thing (following instructions) taking your time did every bit as great of a job as paying $100+ with tip and product at a salon stylist which I have many times! It is truly amazing. It did take some time to get to the way I wanted but that's because it was months of growth vs every 3 weeks. My wife and friends said where did you go to get your cut it looks amazing! Nobody believed me it's that great! After discussing with others and thinking about it, these salons were getting filthier and filthier anyway. Their stations had the prior clients hair on their counters, floors were swept but sloppy, they just felt dirty and probably were. So many unpleasant little things like nearly every time they put the cape on its so tight I have to undo it to looser, I've been stabbed in the head with the point of the scissor several times (no blood) except for the time she snipped the very end tip of my earlobe off, no joke! Or I think of the times their breath reeks of garlic or the heavy smokers (I don't smoke) that simply just stink. These are NOT the cheap places like s____ts and the like, these are high end some even designer salons. I remember it did not used to be like this, in fact I used to like going to get my hair cut, but it seems like most things these days, training, customer service, etc is out the window. So back to this AirCut I am truly in love with this thing, its clean, next trim should only be 15 minutes or so and I don't feel like I will need a shower after my haircut to get the stylists stench off me. PS, I'm well aware not all stylists are like I describe here, but those good ones of days past are few and far between! So if anything came good from this darn covid, I found my new stylist for life, me and my AirCut!
