The real deal
We tried the metal wasabi grater and the texture was no comparison. The metal grated crated water and pulp while this grater created a smooth paste. Have not tried it on ginger but if you can get real wasabi this is a requirement to get the most out of it. Pricey but worth every penny. I used a little bit of Odies oil on the wood part to make it easier to clean, other than that perfect!

why list it as large?
quality is good but i dont know why its listed as large in description it is not large by any means..i payed more than the other ones listed because i thought it would be bigger..it is not

Plastic grating surface. Steer clear.
Simply put, cheap plastic attached to a wood board to make the grater. Personally I prefer Wasabi without bits of plastic included.

It's small but the perfect size for the wasabi root I was able to buy. Works well.

Works great!
Works great! The bamboo brush really works well to help remove the wasabi from the paddle after processing. Like the size also...bought 2 smaller versions both shark skin and ceramic and and preferred the feel and functionality of this one! Hope this helps...
