A Book by Robin Jones Gunn is a SURE THING!
I fall into the category of grown-up girls who read Christy Miller books as a teen (although I was always a little older than Christy). While I loved the Christy books, my absolute favorite of RJG's books were the Glenbrooke books . . . honestly, I would be beyond thrilled if she continued that series in any way. I was happy to know that we would get a glimpse into Christy's married years, but part of me wondered if we might be better off not knowing--? Oh, how wrong I was. This book was just amazing--honestly, one of her very best (although ALL of her books are a sure thing with me). I was pleased to see that Todd has matured immensely (although his quirky ways still remain), and Christy is someone that you would want as your best friend. The story was entertaining, and as many have said before, it definitely left you longing for the next book in the series! There are MANY unanswered questions at the end of this book. The one that I think I'm most curious about is Marti; something is going on with her, and I have a feeling that it isn't good news (but I wonder if it's the beginning of a spiritual life for her character?) I loved the spiritual lessons about trust, having faith, and being confident in what God is doing even when He seems silent (I can relate to that now, actually). RJG has such a sweet way with words. I read this on my fairly new Kindle, and I found myself using the highlight feature for the first time. If you've never read any of her books, you won't be able to stop with one. This author is an absolute delight!

absolutely wonderful!
I adore Robin Jones Gunn. Her writing is so wonderful. She tells a story and you can actually see it happening the way she describes. I have read around 2/3 of all of her books and have loved them all. It's so great to be back in the lives of Christy and Todd and the whole gang. I grew up with these books and have had the characters sort of age with me. The college years came out when I was a freshman in college and now the married years are coming out when all of my closest friends are getting married. It's been fun to be a part of it and watch the characters grow. Really inspirational too, to watch them go through some hard times and learn to trust God with everything. Makes for a good example in life. :)

#ChristyandToddForever
Robin Jones Gunn holds a special place in my heart. It was the first book of her Christy Miller series that found me during my own tumultuous pre-teen years and gave me my first glimpse of what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Her characters became like real life friends to me and I absolutely loved "catching up" with two of my favorite characters in her newest book release. I love that her characters aren't perfect, that they struggle just like any real life person, and that she sprinkles Truth throughout her stories in such beautifully subtle ways to not sound "preachy". If you've ever wondered what happened after Christy & Todd were married, this book is a beautiful glimpse into the ups and downs and the reality of for better or worse. #ChristyandToddForever

Like reuniting with old friends!
I first read the Christy Miller series when I was 15 in high school... I'm 28 now, married, with a baby and a toddler, and I was SO excited to find out Robin was going to be writing The Married Years!!! I finished this book in one night! Reading about Christy, Todd, and the rest of the gang (yes, even Aunt Marti!!) brought back a flood of memories! It really does feel like I've reunited with old friends! Robin Gunn has done it again! She has a way of writing that really makes you think about your relationship with the Lord, as you find yourself relating to so many things her characters go through. This book was one of my favorites in the Christy series! I can't wait until the next book!

Like coming back home
Reading this book was like being a prodigal and coming home. It reminded me not only of the spiritual treasures I gained from growing up with Christy, but also of the spiritual mindset I need to actively return to and grow from. I don't think I would have appreciated this book anywhere near as much if I hadn't read The Christy Miller Series growing up. Christy and Todd's experience means so much more with the background.

Great read!
This was a great book! It picked up right where the last books left off so I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The only thing that was a little weird/amusing (just for me) was that I started these books when I was in 9th grade (so was Christy). I followed her into The College Years series when I was in college...then my life moved on. I married and had two kids. I know that Christy will catch up, but it was a little weird to read the rest of her story as I was going thru the same things in my life and now to be farther ahead in life. It's all good though! I love RJG and can't wait to read the next installments of Christy's continuing story with Todd!

Great to reconnect!
As a long time fan of the Christy Miller series, it was so nice to reconnect with the characters and see what has happened to them. I have always loved the way Jesus is presented in the books and this book is no exception!! Christy and Todd learn to depend on Jesus in this book and I was encouraged to trust Him more even as I read such an engaging story!!! So grateful Robin Jones Gunn has brought Christy, Todd, and friends back!!! I can't wait to see what the Lord does in their lives!!!
