Well made. Just enough pockets!
Gave my Teton 75L to my son and bought this instead. It is very sturdy with quality hardware and the bottom strap holds a mat and sleeping bag! I put a large folding stove, pots/pan set, and my essentials in and it fits right and comfortably.Nice bag for my scoliosis. It’s not allowing me too much weight and it’s easy to adjust so I’m comfortable.

Great for traveling
I've had this backpack for almost a year now, taken it on several trips and it keeps performing well. It has taken me from Santa Fe to Tybee Island. I have not travelled internationally with it yet, but I think it would meet foreign carrier requirements. I'll get right to it:Pros-Very roomy and durable! This Mountaintop backpack stood up to being jammed into overhead compartments and will fit under the plane seat if not over full. I used packing cubes from Amazon and was easily able to fit clothes for 5 days, a light jacket, my toiletries, extra sandals, and an Ape Case for my camera. I did bring a crossbody bag for my wallet and purse items. The compartment design is deep, it holds a lot! The rain jacket works well, and does a good job keeping things dry. The straps and buckles are sturdy, and the padding is very comfortable. I carried this on my 5'5" frame very well. If I needed to travel longer, I would stick to this pack and do laundry along the way instead of using a larger pack or case. I have embraced traveling light with no plans to go back to a traditional case. The blue color with the gray trim looks classic and the fabric is not showing signs of wear.Cons-Not many. The pockets are very deep, I tried using this for a day pack or work pack and it didn't function well. Small items slip to the bottom and it is just too bulky for my everyday pack. If you want a pack for a light day hike, again, the pockets are deep and I would use packing cubes or storage bags for smaller items or they will fall to the bottom. The rain sheet works well, but is a bit awkward to put on the pack, especially in the rain! I wish the little pouch on the waist band was larger. It would be more convenient if my phone would fit in it.Overall I think this makes an excellent travel and camping pack, but is not well designed for everyday work use or school use. It's also a bit much for just a light day hike unless you need to carry items for a whole family.

Great backpack
Ordered this in black/pink and was pleasantly surprised. So far I've used it for a day hike and it was quite comfortable. It held all of the necessary items without being too bulky. I didn't overload it as it was a day hike, but it seemed like it could handle a lot more than the few items I packed. It seems like good quality and there were no rips or tears. The pocket on the hip straps was convenient; however, it will not fit an iPhone 12 Pro. So keep that in mind if you have a phone similar in size. The main pockets have a lot of space. The back is on the stiff side and if you have a smaller frame like I do (and another reviewer), it might rub against your neck. I'm 5'4" and I almost had that problem. The straps are thick and were comfortable for the 3 hours I had the backpack on. As another review mentioned, the whistle isn't that great. You have to really find the right angle for it to work correctly and even then, I feel like it could be louder. The backpack did come with the rain cover in the pocket on the bottom. I haven't tried it yet, but it's in there (as others have asked if it comes with a rain cover). Overall it's a great purchase and so far it's working out!

Lovin' It!!
I am loving this backpack!! I have never bought a hiking backpack before and after looking at Teton 20L backpacks, I knew I needed double the size!!! So, I bought this one and I have completely stuffed it. (Cant show pictures of inside due to complete stuffing.) The past reviews are true that the pockets are WAAAYYY DEEPER than they look in the pictures and there 3 giant pockets you can store things in, with the deepest being at the back of the backpack. Even the side pockets are super deep that you can put a water bottle and then some. To be transparent, I dont do hikes or anything, but I see the signs with Israel and Ukraine in the news and just wanted to stock up in case something happens. You truly never know what's going to happen nowadays even if youre not into politics and world events! Anyways, the whole backpack is water resistant. The straps for your back support are spot on. The ONLY concern I have is if this 40L (88lb) backpack is going to HOLD everything if I'm wearing it for hours for a really long time (e.g. 3 weeks). I kind of wish the strapping was thicker, especially the strap where you're supposed to pick up the backpack at the top, but I guess this is as good as it could get since it's not $100 or more. I do hope they double sowed this thing down in the factory to increase the durability and reliability of the product and brand.

Good backpack, a bit on the heavy side though.
I bought this backpack because I needed one to go hiking. I am not disappointed. It holds a ton of stuff, including clothes, water bottles, food, first aid kits and everything I've thrown at it so far. I haven't tried to stuff it to the brim, but I can't say I'm disappointed with it. It's pretty comfortable to wear, I didn't get any friction marks after 8 hours of carrying it on my back nonstop. Durability is also good. All the seams are fine, nothing tore, there's no loose threads or funky zippers. Overall a good backpack for the price you pay.One other thing that is important to mention though is that its empty weight is a bit heavy. I'm not sure what particular element of the bag adds so much weight, but you definitely start to feel it after carrying it a while. I had no problems because I didn't need to stuff it full, but once you do I can see it becoming a problem.
