Bare Republic Mineral Matte Sunscreen SPF 30 Sunblock Face Lotion, Sheer and Light Finish, 1.7 Fl Oz

I love how this sun screen protection goes on like a cream. It’s not sticky at all. I use to have really dark spots on my skin and has helped me. I usually include protection to my daily routine skin cream.

To give context for my review, I am a 40yo F with EXTREMELY sensitive, combination skin and rosacea. I have been stuck with the conundrum that I need to wear sunscreen to prevent worsening my rosacea (not to mention the standard anti-aging and cancer prevention benefits), but most sunscreens had ingredients that actually worsened my rosacea. I tried soooo many sunscreens that didn't work for me, including ones that are frequently recommended for sensitive skin.Unlike all those other sunscreens, this one does NOT irritate my skin. It has a light, whippy texture that is just right for my combination skin, easy to spread on my face, and it doesn't turn my T-zone into an oil slick, and/or turn my cheeks into red flake fests. When you first apply, it does have a slightly greasy feel and white cast, but don't freak out because that fades quickly and dries down to a soft, matte finish with no white cast (disclaimer: I have a fair skintone). I use it as my daily sunscreen, and I do have to wear a good moisturizer underneath it to keep my cheeks from getting too dry as the day goes on, but people with more oily skin might not need that step. Unlike other sunscreens that turn into a chalky paste that is difficult to wash off at the end of the day, this one washes off easily, which is another benefit for irritable skin that doesn't endure a lot of scrubbing. I also really put this stuff to the test this summer with two back-to-back vacations at the beach, where I used this sunscreen on my face and reapplied every 2 hours while in the sun, and I did not get a single sunburn, rosacea flare, or breakout (I did also wear a hat as much as possible).I will be using this sunscreen forever as long as Bare Republic keeps making it (please don't ever discontinue it!).

I have combination skin and most sunscreens just add more shine to my oily t-zone. This Bare Republic Matte sunscreen is the best I've tried so far that glides on matte and dries down to a velvety finish. I have medium skin tone and it initially goes on slightly white but disappears once rubbed in. Using this under makeup seems to work well with foundation and setting powder. Very pleased with this sunscreen, love that it's reef friendly and the price point is reasonable.

This has a really smooth matte texture that I really like and it does a good job protecting my face. I only wish it wasn’t so white and a little more sheer in color. I’m already pale enough. ;)

I am super allergic to most sunscreen and many lotions. I've completely given up on chemical-based sunscreens which give me nasty rashes and have been trying the mineral products, with slightlly more success. Most of them are thick and sticky and leave me with a white coating on my already pale skin. Many don't work well, leaving splotchy patches of coverage and a weird tan/sunburn pattern after going out in the sun. And some of them even give me nasty rashes (including the SPF 50 version of the Bare Republic sunscreen). This one goes on smoothly and leaves m skin feeling soft and smooth. There's a little bit of white sheen after application, but that fades. Best of all, no rash. At first, I was a little concerned about it being only SPF 30, but that's a whole lot better than the SPF 0 I've been getting by not using sunscreen at all. It's pretty expensive, but worth being able to spend some time in the sun without covering up with hot clothing.

Love this sunscreen! Sheer matte finish, leaves no residue. Great with my makeup over it.

I like this sunscreen under makeup. It feels like a dimethicone primer and leaves no white cast on my medium olive skin once applied and settled. I use it over moisturizer since I have dry skin and I do not feel like it makes my skin dry or flaky. I do feel like my makeup sits on my skin better with this sunscreen. It has not irritated my sensitive rosacea prone skin or caused breakouts. I previously used the Bare Republic gel sunscreen formula, and I did find that formula more drying and that my makeup would not last as nicely. I will use the gel on days when I will not be wearing makeup but will be outside. The matte formula is a perfect everyday sunscreen. I really like this brand and will continue to purchase. Cruelty free, fragrance free, and effective mineral sunscreen. My new HG.For comparison I find the cerave mineral sunscreen to be too oily on my face as the day goes on.

This product is fantastic ! Creamy and light, and good for all skin types. Goes on a little white, but if you work it in that goes away. I've never burned with this product on, and that was in the caribbean. It's the only product I will use now on my face. A little goes a long way. I also purchased for my elderly mom who spends a lot of time in the sun and recently had a spot on her nose and now needs more protection.
