I was given 3 lens with metal filter rings that had been dropped or bumped. I was able to straighten and repair the threads to the filter ring. Repairing one filter ring paid for this great tool. Made well and should last a long time

I bought these after watching Adam Savages YouTube channel video on lens repair. I have two Mamiya lenses that both had been dropped or hit in their prior lives in a studio. I didn't realize this until I tried to screw on a circular polarizer and my Cokin filter ring for color filters.The product is very solid and well made. It came nicely packaged. I rewatched the video a few times to be sure I had the technique correct. I have a small metal hammer from another project, clamped the vice as shown in the video and started with some very light taps. I repeated this as many times as necessary until both the circular polarizer and filter ring screwed on properly. Needless to say I was very apprehensive about doing this and took my time, especially starting with light taps of the hammer and frequent checks.All in all this is a good tool to use for repairing filter threads on the ends of lenses that have been dropped or bent somehow. Nice and solid.

Well made and made for dented lenses but doesn't work all the time. It works with tiny dents only and does not work for lenses that have heavy damage. I tried it on a few damaged lens threads and it really didn't make much of a difference as it will not straighten a damaged lens like it says it will do.

I have two lenses that I need to open and clean and this product has work for opening these lenses.

Neewer has done it again! I repair all types of vintage optical apparatus and these tools are prefect for me. Previously, to get this kind of tool with this high quality you'd have to hire a machinist or make them yourself. These are made in China and if this is how they machine and anodized parts, they deserve the mantle of the manufacturing leader they have become. It used to be USA and post war Japan. I will no longer turn up my nose to the label "made in China" after using the tools they produce. These are worth the price of admission.

This was purchased as a last ditch effort to fix a dented vintage alpex 200mm f3.5, and damn was it a good purchase. I had almost given up on the ability to ever attach threaded filters to this otherwise functional lense, but this tool managed to round the dent back to the correct curvature AND recut the threads smoothly. Highly recommend this purchase if you have lenses with dented metal threads. This could be the tool to give those lenses a second lease on life!

It all looked good when it arrived. But i soon realized it wasnt what i thought. The back swivel came off. As it turns out, its glued to the screw and not one whole thing. That was annoying. It kept on coming lose all the time. I still tried to fix the lens, but the depth of the product was wrong for me. The lens is now stripped, the product also stripped and i have to find a way to fix an even worse lens mount. As a result, i now have a brick of steel.

Very good quality. Thread is very smooth stainless steel. Rest of coating is very high quality.Very easy to use and effective.
