The best in the series
Yes. The best in the series. Clearly better than John Wick 2. And still feels fresh. The fourth instalment is fine, but at this point the formula is already burnt out. It's nothing more or less than pure choreographed action with an elaborate visual aesthetic. Don't expect a story. Do we need one? I say... NO! Bang bang bang.

Second Best in the Series
Without a doubt the first John Wick film was a blast. Fun, fresh and probably an unexpected hit. Hence the follow up films of which I thought the second was a bit off the boil. This, the third in the series has regained a bit of the pizzazz of the first whilst being bigger and shoutier.First off I see people commenting on the storyline. Er? What storyline? There isn't one really. It's simply a loose framework to hold together numerous long and well choreographed fighting scenes. There is some weird mystical cobblers set in North Africa but again, that's just another excuse for John Wick to have a load of fights, this time in cahoots with a randomly places Halle Berry for a bit of eye candy. Oh, and dogs.Once back in New York JW continues his cartoon like fighting spree the veracity of which makes a Marvel superhero movie look like a non-fiction work. The above is not a criticism though. No. The ultra-violence could easily drift off into something deeply unpleasant but instead the sheer volume and ridiculousness of it transforms it into more of a gymnastic event with added knives. It takes it into the realms of fanciful and thus prevents it from becoming dark and nasty. It's almost hilarious and that saves it.For me, I made the assumption that this film would be just as I described above. An OTT fight fest held together by the most tenuous of storylines and no effort made to be anything else. And given that I felt that it achieved it perfectly and provided a couple of hours of brainless entertainment. If I was to make a criticism it would be that some of the fighting scenes dragged on too long and were too repetitive. It's almost as if the director ran out of ideas - not that this film had many to start with - and then to make up the time simply extended each fight to fill the gap.Overall, a fun, cartoon like bit of fighting fluff.

Action fatigue that still manages to entertain?
(Sort of) spoiler alert! I was disappointed in this movie. There were too many times when it was clear that John Wick could have been killed and the enemy deferred to his reputation, which is a bit of a logic chokehold... Because he went on to kill them.Basically, the enemy has him on the ground and holds a blade to his throat, and just stops and either gushes over it being an honour to fight John Wick or inexplicably pulls away. The first two films built a brilliant aura about the character. The violence was punchy and direct and you got a strong sense of how resourceful Wick was.For this one, they've ramped up the choreography of violence and it doesn't quite work consistently. It feel like you're watching fight scenes that are frequently drawn out for the sake of it. In one room, John Wick gets repeatedly thrown through glass panels... Really? These are the best hitman at The High Table? It reminded me of the Dr Evil line from Austin Powers, "Begin the unnecessarily slow dipping mechanism!"In its favour, Keanu Reeves still plays the character really well, albeit there's less reason to empathise than ever this time. The scenes with Halle Berry were bland run and gun clichés, and didn't go anywhere ultimately with the mother-daughter dynamic. The movie really hard sells the action sometimes to its detriment. Longer and louder action doesn't equal better. For the final movie (it is set up for one) the business of killing needs to be much more ruthlessly efficient. But I'll still watch it again. So there is the core of a reasonably entertaining movie there. Don't build your hopes up and you might enjoy it more than expect.

Bloody brilliant
I have never come across a trilogy where all of them were brilliant.I thought I'd chill out and watch it, but no. This is not a movie to watch if you want to chill out.Number of spins on the Matrix and very nicely done. Had a good laugh at that bit.If you love action movies this is great. Slightly repetitive but sequences done very well indeed, nothing blowing up before it's touched crap here.

Not waste your money unless gratuitous non stop violence of sick makin proportions turns you on.
I like a bit of murder and mayhem and quite enjoyed John Wick 1 and 2, but this is beyond the pale. Disgusting violence, graphic to an unnecccesary extent. I couldn't even look half the time. Two others with me hated it too. Little storyline. The biggest joke is that this is a 15. Our film board should hang their heads in shame, it is despicable, gratuitous violence in its entirety and should be 18 if not banned altogether. Pause to puke.
