Works great !!!
The app was easy to load on my android phone. The watch measures: steps, distance, calories and heart rate . Via Bluetooth the phone and watch can link. Great value for the $$.

Just don’t waste your time(x) and money.
I had really high hopes for this watch. I love Timex, and have always owned one. But the app wouldn’t pair with my phone. The watch did, but not the app - wait, why do both the app & the watch need to pair? Who knows? Who cares? Maybe it’s the app’s fault, maybe it’s the watch (software v hardware) but really, who cares? It just didn’t work, is all you need to know. Avoid this item. I wanted an alternative to my Apple Watch - something with a round face. This was not it. A no-name, Chinese made watch for $30 is what I ended up buying instead, and it performs wonderfully.

Not a Capable Smart Watch
The Timex iConnect TW5M31600 is Timex’s take on a smart watch. I received a round watch (they sell a square version as well,) it has a large bezel and is rather thick. Never-the-less this is good looking and comfortable watch to wear. If only it was a better smart watch.Despite the large bezel, the rounded display is quite nice. However, even at full brightness it disappears in even modest sunlight. The iConnect can measure steps and distances, but it has no GPS capability. Not even connected GPS is offered in the watch. If you are looking for a smart watch to track your runs, walks, etc. the iConnect isn’t it. There is just a simple pedometer. It tracks your steps. That’s it. I’m not even sure that it has an accelerometer. It does measure heart rate. The associated Android and iOS iConnect app is pitiful. It looks much like the Fitbit app, but it doesn’t have features or usability of the Fitbit app. The Android version of the iConnect app doesn’t work unless you accept all of the privileges. Even doing so, despite several attempts, the app could not find the watch. I eventually found that Bluetooth needs to be turned on in the watch. The watch’s Bluetooth settings “Power on” means Bluetooth on. Once you do that, in the iConnect app a device called iCon F appears. That’s the iConnect watch.Settings are all over the place on the watch and you have to search for them. Some are in the main watch settings. Others such as selecting manual or auto heart rate are in the watch apps themselves. Some, but not all, are mirrored in the iConnect app. Personal settings height is in inches not feet and inches. Really? There was no way that I could find to change the settings other than metric/imperial and F/C temperature in the app. All settings apparently are handled directly on the watch. And it’s touch screen is, well, very touchy. Worse, I had spent some time walking before I installed the app. Doing do reset my steps and all my other watch data to zero. There are only four watch faces. I couldn’t find a way to download additional watch faces (Timex calls the watch faces “clocks”.) There is no way to select different complications or otherwise customize the watch faces. Apparently, we are stuck with the four watch faces included with the watch the complications that came with them.Battery life isn’t the greatest. On a full charge with “normal” use the watch ran out of battery power and shut down less than 11 hours after it was fully charged. That’s not all day battery life.I know. This watch is less expensive than most Garmin, Fitbit and Android watches. Still, there are better thought out, more capable, easier to use smart watches in the same price range as the iConnect by Timex TW5M31600. I don’t think that the watch will spend much time on my wrist.

I was excited to try out this watch. I've used a Fitbit by Garmin in the past and I loved the features like how it kept track of my steps (even though I'm not a big health nut.)The neutral color is nice and the band was relatively comfortable on my wrist. Though as a woman, I felt like it looked abnormally large on me. Also, it's not as light as other similar products. The app took up quite a bit of space on my phone and was difficult to follow.I think it's a bit overpriced for what you're getting. Could really use some improvements.

Has the wrong date with no way of fixing it
I was ready to give this 5 stars for being a simplified fitness watch but it doesn't keep the correct date. It syncs the time but is always a day ahead. That makes it useless as a fitness tracker or even as a watch. --edit-- let me elaborate a little more. It is possible to turn time synchronization off but it seems pointless to have to do this. There are no settings for a time zone. The watch otherwise would be a nice one to have. It has a good screen, fits well, and the app isn't overly obtrusive but does allow quick viewing of stats. If you don't want to you wouldn't even have to look at the watch. Timex has failed to address the errors and their app is outdated. I suspect this isn't Timex at all but the holding company simply allowing someone else to make a quick buck at the expense of their reputation. The Active version at least functions but has it's own flaws that I will address in another review. I really wanted this to be nice but I can't excuse a company with a respected history of accurate time pieces getting it so wrong.
