I have a 20+ year old car. The air conditioner went out on it 4yrs ago. I really didn't want to put $1700 into a new system because of the value of the car. I try to run errands on 'cloudy' days and early in the morning since I live in the south, especially when it's in the 90's!! I've been riding with car fans I purchased from Amazon. I saw this when I was searching. I've riden with it in the hot part of the day three times now. I started out in the mid morning when it's cool, so the air coming from the cushion is cool. When I get in and the car is hot, it's warm air. It's the same with the other fans I have. The air is only as cool as the air it's circulating!!! The air from the cushion does however keep my clothes from sticking to me, so that is worth it!!! So don't expect it to work like an AC!! The cushion makes my car look a little better as I have grey interior! I can hear the fan that runs it, but it's not loud enough to be a distraction!!

My old car had ventilated seats but I bought a newer car that does not. I've been looking at something like this for a while. I have not sat on it in shorts but it's very powerful. It's not the most comfortable seat but it's actually helped me to not slide as much (my seats are very slick). I hope this lasts a long time. I am very impressed so far even on the low setting. It cools very quickly.

I am in SC in the depths of a hellish hot summer. My leather seated Tahoe does not have cooled seats, so I thought I would give this a try. It is wonderful to get in to vehicle after spring outside, the air blows and cools my sweaty self to point that I have to shut it off. Granted it only as cool as the air you have on in the car, so if it's hot, it does take a little while to get cool, but once your ac is kicking in, this draws in that cool air and your back side will be much more comfortable. I feel more air in the bottom than what blows up the back though, that is the only downside that I've noticed. I guess if you are sitting on the channels, they get blocked and can't push the air up the back very well.Overall, I'm very happy with it and have recommended it to several friends

I've had this almost a year now.Initially this was awesome. I've got a newer car with great AC, but my seats are black leather and in the blazing summer they can really hold heat. So even when it's not on, it holds you off the seat a bit.On high, it definitely cools. 5 stars! Once the car cooled down I generally left it on low.But the low stopped working a few months after purchase. High was still working fine.Then about 6 months in, the air stopped blowing on the back; just the seat was cooling.About 10 months after purchase, it stopped blowing on the left side, so only my right leg/bottom gets cooled. It's aggravating.The concept is amazing; the application is lacking. This is made of cheap parts that will stop working probably sooner rather than later.I will rebuy a similar unit but not from this company.Another thing to note - I thought I would take this out during the winter, but it provided a buffer from the very cold seat so I left it in.

I purchased several seat coolers before I found this one and none can compare. The others had you sitting on fans which was very uncomfortable and yet this one with only one fan still works better. The fan sits between your legs and can pick up cooler air if you run some cold air on the floor. The only downside is that it is a little noisy if you keep your car quiet. If the radio is on quietly you won't hear the fan.

Purchased this to battle the insane heatwaves we've been experiencing in Texas. I have black leather, so I needed something to protect the back of my legs and assist my car's AC in keeping me *relatively* cool. It's easy to put on, but I hated how it slid around when I got into my car. The fan sound level is noticeable, but not too loud. The air holes don't do anything-- if I push my hand onto the cushion I can feel some air traveling through it, but when I'm sitting on it it basically feels like nothing is happening. I don't know if it's because I weigh 215 lbs, but it seems like the air is being pinched off at my thighs and never distributes throughout the system.My car's seats are pretty comfortable to begin with, so I can't say this made my seat any more comfortable (like some other reviews). Overall, gets a 1-star because it fails to do its primary function (cooling) AND secondary function (seat padding). Would have returned if I didn't miss the return period.

After reading reviews, I almost didn't purchase. Out of desperation to save my marriage in the midst of an Alabama summer after my husband insisted on getting leather seats for MY new vehicle (I've always hated leather), I decided it was worth a shot. These have saved us! Very easy to install, and works well in my RAV4. Sometimes my large bod will block some of the air holes, but a small shift in position, and it's back to cooling the crown jewel! The material isn't as soft as I'd like, but I imagine that's impossible in order to still get the function. It isn't uncomfortable at all, even after several hours. I've had this several months now and was holding off on a review to make sure it lasted. If it died today, I'd immediately order another one. Well worth the money!!!
