I bought this battery to replace my old laptop battery as it had stopped accepting a charge.When the new battery arrived, I installed it in my laptop. Upon installation it was showing to be at 35 percent charge. I left it plugged into the charger and it never got up beyond the 35 percent.I had read a comment about deep cycling the battery, which made sense, so thought I'd try that. I took it down to 6 percent charge and tried charging it again. Now it will not get above the 6 percent charge.After a little further research online, I did discover that my old battery was not charging due to the laptop running hot. Thankfully there are people smarter than myself who are willing to share their knowledge. :)I took my laptop apart cleaned it, placed the old battery back in and low and behold it is working fine again. I thought I'd keep the new one just to have a spare, but it still will not charge, so I am returning it.Perhaps I should have run it down to the lower level before trying to bring it up from the 35 percent charge? I do not know and did not see a way to as the seller about that. If the next one comes with a 35 percent charge, I will try that first just to see if it works out better. That is another reason for the three star rating vs. a lower one.The response from Amazon to my return request, issued today, was immediate with the delivery of another battery expected tomorrow.I gave three stars because of the return response. Anything can happen with any product, new or used. I don't like to give a bad rap to a seller who is willing to stand behind their product. I appreciate the response and will update when I get to try the new battery.Update:The new replacement battery arrived approx. one week after the replacement order went through.Kudos to Amazon for help with both returns!I am returning the second one and have given up on this one. Neither of the two batteries I tried would take a charge. I tried them both different ways. The first, I tried to charge it up to full from the 35 percent charge that it arrived with. No luck. I tried using it to drop the charge down and then left it on the charger all night with no success.The second battery, I tried using it first. It arrived with a 50 percent charge, so I used it and got it down to 5 percent and then attempted to charge it. Again, I left it on the charger all night with no success.I know my charger is working just fine as my original batter continues to charge, once I got the laptop running cooler. I was hoping to keep a new one for a spare as my original one is now approximately 8 yrs old. I'm going to give it up for a bit and then will likely try another supplier. I have not had much luck with this one so far.Could it be that I am the problem here. Yes, it is possible, but I tried both methods to get them to charge and both have failed. I will try a little more research before attempting this again. So far, it has been a complete waste of time and money. At least, thanks to Amazon, I will get the money back, so there's that. :)

Does not last long at all. Will not buy again.

Great drop in replacement battery. Read the instructions and deep cycle it a few times before complaining. It will get to full power.
