It actually steams!!! I got this to around the bottom of my Christmas’s tree and my sons would watch it for hours. The train easily went on the tracks and went round and round. Very easy to put together

I saw this train set on Amazon while searching for a birthday gift for my 6 year old grandson. I had good reviews and has a fairly large track, so I gave it a try. The track can be made into a circle, or an oval over 70 inches wide. It is powered by a single rechargeable battery Like AA). It only came with one. This seems to me to be the weakest part of the entire arrangement, but the first charge I gave it allowed the train to run for over an hour. It has an adapter that connects to any USB outlet, and has a red light that goes out when the battery is fully charged. You can put water for the smoke featute into the gold plug on top of the engine, beside the smoke stack, but it seems to take a while for water to work its way into the engine before it initially began to "smoke". Tip: I would use distilled water for this, (just as you would in a steam iron). When you switch on the engine, it has one click that allows the sound of the engine/bell to be heard. If you get tired of this audio, there is a further click to run in silent mode. When turned on, the train has a short delay before it moves. I like this, as it gives the child time to let go of the engine before it starts moving. Show your child how to connect the cars together , so they do not break the car connectors. You have to come in at a slight angle to do it. It comes with 3 cars, two large and one smaller one. I think any child of a good age (5 or above) will enjoy this train set.

The media could not be loaded. Train comes with a good amount of track, I bought it for Xmas so I just used the full round track. For being an inexpensive train it has wonderful details and being battery operated makes it self-contained and easy to set up. The smoke feature is not dramatic, we filled it multiple times and we’re only able to get a little bit of smoke out, but it’s not a big deal to me personally at this price point and no fear of kids breaking it either.

The train struggles to sit on the track correctly. It falls off constantly. Very cheaply made. It came with two rechargeable batteries, both lasted about 2 minutes of running time each. I bought this for my son but it made him cry more than anything. Sound quality really sucks and was really annoying to listen to. The engine was the worst car on the tracks. The other two cars rode on the track smoothly. The coal car holds the battery so it’s not possible to roll the engine on the track alone

The train set was okay overall. Some pros/good things: the smoke works pretty well, the train noises are loud (I like this part but others may not since it's hard to keep on while talking/watching tv) and it was pretty simple to assemble out of the box. Now the con/bad part: the train wheels are so flimsy/temperamental/difficult to line up on the tracks. It took many tries to get every car lined up just right so it would stay on the tracks consistently. It got to be quite frustrating to turn the train on/off since we dreaded lining the cars back up on the tracks. The train cars are pretty durable so far. The village scene/people are also really cheap/flimsy and not so easy to stand up without them falling over with one small breeze 😂

I'm so pleased with my purchase of this train. Love the fact that it's rechargeable and I'm not burning through batteries. Sound effects and steam is wonderful. My granddaughter loves it! However I have a tiny issue that I couldn't help notice. The cabin decals on one of the cars are upside down.
