It just works
Just a good reliable pen. Doesn't dry out as long as the cap is replaced after use and doesn't have any issues when starting to write after a while unused. The grip section is shaped to encourage a "correct" grip on the pen, which some people may not get on with. I'd prefer it to be round, like my Lamy Studio, but it doesn't bother me enough to mark the pen down. It also doesn't include a converter for bottled ink, but these are readily available, make sure you get the Z28 variant, the Z27 looks nicer and is intendd for the higher priced pens, but the Z27 seals better and has two little protrusions on the sides that serve to hold the converter in place while operating the piston. I have had issued with ink drying up with the Z27 in Safaris and Al-Stars, but they work fine in Studios.Another advantage with most Lamy fountain pens is the interchangeable nibs. If you want something broader or finer, just swap the nib. Its as easy as sliding the old one out and pushing the new one in. Its a great way to experiment with things like stub nibs with minimal investment. The finish is nice and understated and it's durable, too. Based on this and other Lamy pens I have I have no concerns over carrying this in a pocket with keys or change etc. it'll be fine.

Writes great.
Ink flow is good and the pen looks and feels great. The bold nib is a bit a bit too thick in my opinion, so replaced it with a medium nib.
