Mostly great. I don't love the refill size (Parker) but I like the slight bulk when gripping. I also like the mortar/concrete construction but it does have two plastic caps that detract from the overall Staedtler build and the ink insert moves ever so slightly when writing so it isn't for detail work. Still a good pen it has a great texture and good bulk. I would buy it again.

If you like big pens, you'll like this pen.

I wanted this pen for its uniqueness. And as far as the concrete goes, it's pretty cool. However, the remaining hardware on the pen from the ballpoint ink, to the tip, to the plastic washer things at the end of the concrete part, to the clip, to the button all have a decidedly cheapish look and feel to them. The pen also rattles a bit while I'm writing, both at the tip and the top of the pen. All this together gives this pen a less than premium feel to it, when it had the potential to be really awesome. Hopefully Staedtler will take another run at this pen and upgrade the look and feel of the non-concrete parts to something more premium.

I bought this pen for a gift and was thinking it would be more robust than it is. I can get over the light weight because The feel of the concrete is fairly nice (though not what I was expecting) but the click cap is weak plastic like material that really was a turn off. I actually felt a little bad when the recipient of the gift was holding the pen and let me hold it. It feels more cheap than I would have expected.

quality looking pen. the clicker is matte finish, so if it is plastic you won't know it. it weighs 1.075 oz. about a half inch wide. looks to be a parker jotter type ball point refill. not a strong pocket clip, and possibly could be pulled out by by glasses-which has always been my problem and usually results in a lost pen at the grocery store. almost 6 inches long.
