I ground up 200 500mg vitamin C tablets in less than 5 minutes then i used a plastic straw to blow the dust residue from the grinder parts. Did not see a reason to wash with soup after use. When i initially received it i washed all the parts in soap and water and air dryed them with a medium setting hair dryer. I placed about 6 or eight large tablets in the resorvoir and ground them by rotating the handle , shaking other tablets in place and rotating more. Was a quick and efficient method. If it tried to jam i reversed the grinding actio one or two turns and repeated the clockwise grinding. Clock wise produces very fine results and counter clockwise fine results. It would be great if the grinder parts were metal instead of plastic but i am very happy with the results . I take 2,000 mg of vitamin C in 8 oz,s of water everyday to the destroy the Arthritis Calcium in my bone joints which reduces my pain level from a 7 or 8 to a tolerable 1 or 2. Once my pain level is reduced i maintain a 1,500 mg dose per day of vitamin C . I cannot take Nsaids of any kind bc of another medical condition.

The crushers grab pills easily and have no issue/ un-split pills. I used blue Picture on the screw/knob that secured the crank handle and also the setting screw for how finely to crush particles. It now works quickly and quietly and quiet a bit less fuss than my other version. Seems well made except for the screws self-loostening

First - I had ordered, one by one, three of the plastic type that needs to be hand twisted. Secondly, the design of these three were all virtually the same - a somewhat 'pointed' drill cap that was to be twisted down into the cup with the same reverse design shape as the top. That may be ok for larger pills, but I had a tiny BP pill for my cat to get ground up. Thirdly - a very very strong set of hands are crucial and a lot of patience is needed. To twist the cap on/down into the cup takes many revolutions. Then you have to untwist the cap off to inspect the pill. Most times the pill was not even broken, much less crushed. Very frustrating! If you work at it, over and over, tilting the container this way and that as you twist down the top into the cup - eventually you may get a ground up pill. I'm too old for that and have some arthritis in my hands. BUT I ordered this model. Works great and grate and fast. I would suggest the lower cup where the pill grounds drop into to not have a lip on the inside the cup as some of the ground pill gets caught and does not drop out. This recepticle area also could be half the height which would also make it easier to operate.

This is the worst product I’ve. Ought off Amazon. It does not grind Pills as described. It’s basically the same as a cracked pepper dispenser. Completely unusable DO NOT BUY.

I am providing care for a family member that is using a feeding tube, so we need to pulverize numerous pills daily so we can deliver via feeding tube. Previously we were using a simple one we bought from Walmart. This is so, so much better. It is much better for me because it is quick and simple, but most importantly, it is much better for my family member because they can operate it themselves if needed as well. The strength required is much less. So I rate it 5 stars and highly suggest it. I also suggest buying it in conjunction with a stainless steel (food grade) mortar and pestel. I bought the one recommended as often bought together and I am extremely satisfied with both.

Been looking for an easy to use pill crusher for my elderly mom. There’s no mess, pill opening holds plenty. The crank is not hard to turn and easily crushes 10 pills at once. It’s perfect, if you have fair hand strength and dexterity. Unfortunately, it’s too hard for my 89 yr old mother to open and close. Also, she has to line up the top and bottom half to close.This is too difficult for her to do when she needs to do on her own, otherwise it’s a good product.

We tried a whole myriad of different types of pill crushers. What we like:1. Crank operated, can make fine or coarse ground;2. Crank can be collapsed: not top-heavy (this turned out to be a real problem with other types);3. Handled all types and sizes of medicines, including the slippery little “tiny-time-pills” that pour out of those capsules and were so much trouble to deal with;4. Easy to clean, and5. Did not leave a lot of medicine behind—almost all of it was accessible after grinding (unlike the mortar and pestle, our backup).All in all, we went thru about three months and some 6 machines. This one stuck.

This thing actually worked really well but as you can see in the picture all I did was put it together and crank the handle to see how it worked and I got all that residue from the ceramic blades. Unfortunately I would not recommend this because you're going to get those ceramic residue in with the medication. However, it did work really well to crush the pills. And it was simple to put together and operate.
