Being digital rather than analogue are they silent running or is there still a ticking sound?

They are quiet with no ticking. Happy with mine!

Yes you can, I have both of mine plugged into 2 different extension leads. Works great.

Is there any video showing the setup? Im struggling to get it working

No but set the time first presiing and holding clock and setting hrs mins and day. Then set timer press and hold timer set time day/days by scrolling thru. Thats the fisrst on press timer again and set the first off you can do this to set more or just scroll through as blank. Then press auto/on/off and leave on auto. This is from memory but you should get it going if you do it in that order. Good luck or use Youtube search.
