Broan-NuTone PB18LWHCL Doorbell Kit, Clear/White

This review is for Broan-NuTone PB18LWHCL Doorbell Kit, Lighted Circle Pushbutton for Home, 0.81" Diameter.The pushbutton was delivered promptly and as described by the seller. This is an exact replacement for the original NuTone chime pushbutton which had lost its light and was rusted such that it functioned only intermittently. Installation was straightforward with a simple pressure-fit in the NuTone panel and screw-connection of the two wires for the door-chime. The new pushbutton is illuminated and works well.

Drop in replacement for our antediluvian doorbell, which only rang for the most determined button pusher and whose light had died late in the last millenium. Now both doorbell and light work perfectly. Downsides: the light is maybe too bright (though no complaints from the neighbors yet), and it is harder to ignore the religious fanatics who come by hoping to convert us.

I can't believe I could get this on Amazon! The original brass-ringed door chime push button was collapsed in on itself, no longer springing back after being pushed. This plastic-ringed button hooks up simply and slides perfectly into place in the old brass plate (which reads "no soliciting"), and even lights up! I didn't even know there had been a light function on the original button. Wonderful to see the lighted button, and mostly to hear the NuTone chimes on my two chimer again!

Installed 6 months ago and it's still working properly; good cheap fix so far. I just needed to add a bit of crazy glue to get it to stick and stay flush with the current doorbell plate. Easy installation.

Fits my old house doorbell that we thought we needed to replace, we didn't!! This wasn't the problem with be bell-sound not working. Lights up!

I bought this one year ago and it works great.

When my button went dead, I found this exact replacement. I did read other reviews about how it fell apart when installing. True, when I tightened the two screws, the thing fell apart, and the bulb fell out. After putting the bulb back in, end with leads down first, I super glued the base to the lens. Just a drop of CA on a toothpick around where the two come together, and presto, the whole unit slipped into the wall hole and screwed the mounting plate back on. Just remember, the bulb leads MUST touch the brass connectors, or the light won't light, and the bell won't ring. Another thing, I did NOT turn off house power. I just disconnected one wire on the chime transformer (plunger), stripped the button wires for loops, and reconnected the wire on the transformer, and it worked. I did use a screwdriver that had a plastic handle and would not conduct power. I gave it much thought, read the reviews, and saw the fix. Excellent button and I will use the same again if this one fails. I now know the secret.

Fits into the wall mounted intercom unit outside my home's front door. Had to securely press out bad switch before pressing in this replacement switch. This switch replaced the original 30+ year old switch which quit on me 1 year ago.
