Good value for the price
I installed the LP-350 to handle a RF throughput of 150 watts, which it does perfectly. The LP-350 arrived sooner than expected. I have not tested this, and prefer not to (obviously). :-)The air-core female connectors appear to be a higher quality than the usual you get with other things.RF throughput is fine, no attenuation.Workmanship is very professional. There are replacement gas discharge cartridges on their website.Whenever they develop a model that handles over 1000 watts RF throughput, I'll buy.I didn't know Opek existed, prior to making this purchase, so, I'll be nosing around their website to get familiar with their other antenna and electronic products.Glad I got it, hope I don't need it.Thanks

Easy to install.
Installed on VHF radio antenna lead. It is easy to install and I hope to not find out if it works. Our 44 foot sailboat has suffered a number of lighting strikes in the past.

Comes with female to female -- Needs a male end
I bought this to connect between my J-Pole Antenna and my coax line. The J-Pole Antenna has an SO-239 female fitting to accept the male PL259 connector on the coax. The problem is that I need this lightning arrestor to work inline, which means I need it to have a PL259 on one end (to screw into the antenna fixture) and an SO-239 female to then mate to the coax. Not sure how OPEK planned for that to happen. The description says "Installs inline with coax cable" which would probably work if I connected a coax with a PL259 on both ends to my antenna then put this arrestor between that coax and another length of coax just like it before it gets to my radio. I really don't want to use two coax cables as "extension cords" with a surge protector in the middle.Alas, this means that I need to get a PL259 to PL259 adaptor that I can install between OPEK's "Coaxial Lightning Antenna Surge Protector" and the J-Pole antenna.I would really have preferred as few connectors between Point A and Point B. Adding another coupler to make this fit gives me another point of possible failure.

Good unit
Seems to be a good unit - won't know until I'm struck by lightning.

Surge Protectors
Nothing prevents lightning but there are a few things a person can do to minimize its affects. These little guys are a step in that direction. Good grounding is always a must and unhooking radio gear during periods of lightning will never be replaced. Sometimes it comes on too fast or when you're not around to unhook stuff so these sorts of protectors are a good idea. Hope I don't have to find out how good or bad they work.

Satisfied
It's difficult to rate somtihngl ike this unitl after it proves itself, but I was just happy to be able to find one for a decent price.

Not struck by lightning yet.
Easy to install. Have to wait for a lightning strike to do a reliable review.

If you're putting up antennas, you need one
Maybe not the brand, there ARE others, many more costly than this, but this should do the job. I liked it so much I bought two and will probably buy a third.
