It also distributes heat much better than I imagined
I just bought one of these. At first I thought it was too big. But then I used it, and the size is not big, it just appears so. It also distributes heat much better than I imagined, It makes it difficult to burn food, and burning, just a little, destroys food value. And caramelized meat causes cancer. Overall if there was a hurricane coming and I could grab just one thing from the kitchen, I would grab this. It can cook everything. And you could take it camping! It can cook over any kind of heat. So in a sense the design is rather primitive. People have lived in China for 40,000 yrs and this is the design, the wok, they use. This doesn't get super hot like a carbon steel wok, but we now know that burnt edges aren't healthy. They are tasty because our ancestors burnt meat for hundreds of thousands of years so we've inherited that taste, but that doesn't make it healthy. Overheating destroys vitamins and proteins. I was shocked by how long it holds heat. With the cover on, the water in it was steaming after 15 minutes, and I don't know how long that would have lasted. So steaming and cooking for a long time can be done with this.

Great wok
For years I have used non-stick woks. However, after switching to an induction cooktop, I decided to try stainless steel cookware because I read that they conduct heat faster and more evenly. This wok is absolutely beautiful and very high quality. My stir fry tastes more tender in this wok than in a non-stick one. For anyone who are not familiar with cooking with stainless steel cookware, it’s good to do some research on how to do it. The wok cleans very easily after each use. I am very happy with the purchase and definitely recommends it.

Definitely recommend!
Best all around pan that I have ever used. The evenness at which this pan heats is remarkable. I use this on an electric cook top so it takes a little while to get the pan up to temperature (the pan is pretty heavy compared to most). But once properly heated, the performance of the is amazing. Some reviews state that certain foods have a tendency to stick and I can see where this could happen. However, with proper heating and the application of a little oil this should not happen very often. Pros: even heating, durability(?), versatility and easy cleanup Cons: price, weight

Good quality, but not perfect.
This pan is of top quality. Heating is rather even due to its special constraction. The 12 inch size is perfect for preparing meal for 1-4 persons. The handle will never be hot however the handle of lid could be hot if cook long.CON: When stirring fry eggs or meat, this pan is really sticky. I changed from high heat to medium heat and added more vegetable oil and these won't help that much.

A 2nd tier product
The product is new, but is a 2nd sold as a top tier product. There are small defects in the finish of the pan, packaging reflects it also. Is it a showstopper? No, because I will use it and not keep it for display. If the price would reflect a 2nd from the factory, would have felt better about the purchase.

Great savings on a pan that is well constructed, has a tiny ding that has no effect on the utilization of the pan...
Beautiful pan with only 1 tiny flaw that was very insignificant.just about a 1/16 inch little dip in the handle but for that much saving, it was nothing that interfered with cooking so I thought it was a great deal. Unfortunately, the site doesn't mention how long the handle is and the way it's pictured, it looks fairly normal in length. However, though I didn't measure it, it looks to be about 18 inches long. I got it as a gift and it wouldn't fit where they wanted to use it. If you only plan to use it on top of the stove, it's a terrific pan. It's also a very heavy pan and like the saute pan, I'm sure it heats evenly and quickly on lower heat than most others. It would've been a great gift had the handle not been so long and the space so small.

No hot spots, GREAT for induction cooktops
No hot spots, ultra fast heating on my induction stovetop, and looks beautiful. Two notes though;1. This pan is heavy. If you don’t feel safe lifting heavy pans, be warned. You are not going to lift and pour something from this pan with one hand.2. If you’ve never cooked with stainless and are used to Teflon non-stick surfaces, PLEASE do your homework. If you don’t wait until the pan is hot to add oil or butter, it will stick. If you refuse to cook with oil or butter, don’t cook with stainless.

Great product!
The best kitchen investment! Ordered it when on sale for $311. Super versatile pan, can stir fry, steam, deep fry, boil, and BAKE =). Made my first no-knead bread. Placed the dough inside this pan to bake in the oven (some people use dutch oven or clay vessel). The texture was moist and chewy, the crust was crispy. My family was impressed and most importantly our baby boy loves the bread =).Note that the pan is kind of heavy, the lid handle gets hot easily, and finger prints but that is not a deal breaker for me.Update after a year:People beware! Think twice before you get the All-Clad copper pan, cause it would be the start of an expensive hobby (it will lead you to Demeyere, Staub...)! In my case, I got rid of almost all of our pots and pans. This pan is 4 quart. In order for food not to stick to the pan, make sure to coast it with oil and cook at low heat. I fried tuna on heat setting 4 and put on the lid. Took about 4 min each side. The food won’t stick to the pan once it is cooked. My only pet peeve is that unlike the pan, the lid metal thickness is very thin. It seems not to handle high heat in the oven well (from what I read online, their Dutch oven lids seems to be like this too) as it is turning a darker tint. It still does the job, but a Dutch oven may be better... I wash it by hand and occasionally use Bar Keepers Friend for the tough stains. If you like to use dishwasher, check out All Clad 3qt copper core saucier or Demeyere Conical Sauteuse.

Hot & Heavy
Heat retention is very impressive, reminds me of my le creuset pots - needs a low heat once you get going

a very good saute pan; the cover is useful
I bought this pan because it is shaped very much like a wok but has a flat base which works well on my gas stove. The heat distribution is even, and I've had good results sauteing mushrooms, onions, and meat. I have found the lid useful as well. I'm not sure what the technical difference there is between the domed lid and a flat lid but it seems to keep food like sauteed mushrooms warm without getting soggy.
