My perfect side-sleeper memory foam pillow! *LOVE!*
After working for years, with long hours at a computer (in chairs which were varying degrees of quality at desks designed for taller people) my back and neck pretty much hurt on and off all the time, though I've found ways to mitigate the discomfort and to avoid flare ups.Well one of the ways I've found to mitigate flare up of pain is to pay attention to when and where I feel aches and pains. I've noticed that lately my neck pains have started after laying in bed reading or after sleep. Clearly my pillows - as nice as they were - weren't cutting it anymore. I saw this pillow on a Lightning Deal and figured - $20? Why not?!So this quickly arrived in the mail (Thank you, Amazon Prime!) and I unwrapped it, hugged it (the cover is SUPER SOFT and it felt comfortably squishy) and plopped it on the bed. That night it replaced my combo of a nice (but aging) down pillow and an (official) Tempurpedic pillow which I resort to using solo whenever I have a neck pain before bed.Although the Tempurpedic pillow is nice, and mostly helps my neck pain, it just isn't quite the greatest pillow for a side sleeper. It has the head cradle thing which is really best for back sleepers. So, while it is a good pillow that doesn't hurt me it also sometimes doesn't feel comfortable to go to sleep because the shape it wrong, and also it is a little hard.By comparison, it feels like this pillow were made as a memory foam solution for side sleepers! It has the support of memory foam, as well as the contouring to your body thing going on, but the shape is correct and it's slightly softer than my Tempurpedic. The velour plush cover is also a tad silky softer than my Tempurpedic's zip cover. This pillow felt so comfortable that I barely needed to adjust it at all during the night. I felt instantly comfortable on it and I woke with zero neck pain whatsoever for the first time in the last few weeks! Joy!One flaw? It's a little stinky out of the bag. The smell is weird, not immediately plasticy or chemically... just a little bit of both almost like plastic mixed with self-tanner or something, but I suppose it doesn't matter what precisely it smells like because it is just... stinky! So, I dabbed some sleepy blend aromatherapy oil on my temples and wrists and the scent was completely mitigated. Today the smell is already reduced and I imagine it will wane further with time. Those who are sensitive may want to be aware of this, though. And either skip it or leave the pillow in another room to air out for awhile before using.Bottom line: I love this pillow and will be ordering a second for my sweetie, even without the Lightning Deal pricing. The old pillows will be donated to my senior doggie - who steals our pillows all the time anyway!UPDATE: 01/13/2016I've been sleeping on this pillow for over a month now and I love it today as much as the morning after the first night I slept on it. Here is why:It's comfortable because it conforms to my body and doesn't crick my neck out of whack being too firm/high, nor does it flatten out leaving my neck without support. It's that perfect balance of springy, cushiony support that doesn't strain the neck-- even though I am a side sleeper. Also, as a side sleeper, sometimes my shoulder would be wonky from trying to get comfortable on my other pillows, but that hasn't happened since I got this new one. I am almost forget to be grateful for this pillow because it's easy to forget your neck feeling fine every single day, but if I think back to all the "not fine" mornings I had with my old Tempurpedic (Tempurpedic is good, but mine wasn't shaped well for me and my sleep needs) and/or the down pillows I used-- I know to be really glad I took a chance on this pillow. Also, though if you stick your nose into it the pillow still smells a bit like foam, the strong odor it gave off when it was brand new is long gone. And that cover is velvety soft.I love this pillow and will grab another after we move. Highly recommended! Good luck and hope you like this pillow as much as I do!

Awesome pillow! Helped to relieve my morning neck pain and TMJ pain!
I normally do not write reviews for things but this pillow has been so wonderful that I had to add to the many positive reviews that have been written. For years, I woke up every morning with a sore neck and pretty much learned to live with it. Recently, I was experiencing TMJ pain associated with some pre-existing TMJ issues I have had for about 18 years (mainly jaw popping/clicking). Through my own self massage, I determined that a lot of my jaw pain was being triggered by muscles in my neck and upper back. I tried a $450 mouth appliance from the dentist and it practically eliminated the popping and clicking in my jaw. However, my TMJ pain was still present and was not any better. I bought this pillow and figured it was worth trying. At first the pillow seemed too high, too firm (even though I prefer a firm pillow) and very smelly. It took a week or two for the pillow to lose the chemical smell. After about a month the pillow was "broken in" and a little less firm. The main thing I noticed, though, was that after a night or two my neck no longer hurt like it used to when I woke up in the morning. After about a week, my jaw was no longer hurting either!I would highly recommend this pillow to anyone who wakes up in the morning with a sore neck and/or anyone suffering from TMJ pain.I sleep on my back, side and stomach and this pillow has been comfortable for me in all positions. I am also 6'2" and weigh 215 lbs. I am not sure how well this pillow would work for someone who is smaller but it has worked well for me.

Firm Pillow -- With Just The Right Amount Of "Give" For A Side Sleeper
I've cycled through several memory foam pillows over the years, and I think this one's a keeper. As a side sleeper who often switches sides throughout the night, I need a pillow that is both thick and firm -- but with just the right amount of give. In the two months since I purchased the pillow, it's provided my tired head with that elusive sweet spot: firm and supportive, but with just enough give to make it comfortable. Whether it stands up to the test of time, however, remains to be seen. (I will provide an update to this review in a few months.) In the meantime, I attached a series of photos demonstrating the "firmness" versus "give" of this bamboo pillow. When it comes to pillows, I've yet to find that perfect one. But here are five major things I've learned in my quest to discover the perfect pillow for me...~ If you are a side sleeper, then you need a memory foam follow. Forget down or anything else. Only memory foam has the firmness and consistency that a side sleeper requires.~ Over time memory foam loses density. Period. You can buy yourself some extra time by flipping the pillow every night, but it's only delaying the inevitable. While it's true that some purportedly high quality pillows last longer than cheaper ones, I've found that the differences are marginal. If you rest your head on the same pillow every single night, then you need to replace it about every 16-20 months. Manufacturers will drone on and on about 5-year warranties and how their pillow lasts for years and it's total BS. Nowadays all these pillows are made in China and are super inexpensive, anyway. You can budget for a new $35 pillow every 18 months, believe me. (Please note: I am referring only to memory foam pillows. A high quality down pillow that's well taken care of will last for a long time -- perhaps as long as ten years.)~ Size and feel are more important than quality and cost. There's no point in spending more than $60 on a memory foam pillow. You can easily find a good pillow in the $30-50 price range. While it's sometimes true that the more expensive ones last a bit longer, it makes much more sense to buy an affordable pillow and simply replace it more frequently. I cannot emphasize this enough: the size, thickness, firmness and feel of the pillow matter WAY more than anything else when it comes to pillows. That being said, I wouldn't purchase anything too far below $30.~ Don't wash it. If you're getting a memory foam pillow shipped, then it'll emit a kind of chemical smell after you remove it from the box. Just let it air out for 48 hours and it'll go away. Afterwards, encase the pillow in two layers. The first layer should be one of those close-fitting pillow protectors that protect against allergens and hair and body oils. (It'll also shield you from any irritants residing in the pillow.) The second layer will be your regular pillow cover. Do that and you're good to go. Don't listen to the manufacturers about washing the pillow. It's a huge hassle and a massive waste of time and energy. Remember, these things are basically disposable. They're not like a down pillow that you're going to have for years and years.~ There's no such thing as a perfect pillow. Everyone's needs are different, and yet there are no "bespoke" or tailored pillows customized for an individual. So even though I often find pillows that I like, I've yet to find a perfect one for me. And that stands to reason because no one's ever tried to design and manufacture a pillow tailored to my specific needs. I am a side sleeper, and the following advice is intended solely for side sleepers. Over the years, I've found that a side sleeper needs a medium-firm to firm pillow that is also thick enough to maintain a 90 degree angle where the head meets the shoulders. That's the same angle that naturally occurs while you're awake and going about your business throughout the day. If the head sinks too low when you sleep, then it puts strain and pressure on your neck. Someone with wide shoulders will need a thicker pillow -- unless of course they have a proportionally large head and thick neck, in which case the pillow might not need to be any thicker than someone with narrower shoulders. Additionally, one must factor in the firmness of their mattress. If your mattress is on the soft side, then a side sleeper's shoulders will sink farther into the mattress, leaving less space between the shoulder and head and thus requiring less thickness in the pillow. Conversely, a firmer mattress necessitates a thicker pillow in order to compensate for the increase in space between the shoulders and head.

Excelente

Awesome pillow! Can't ask for much better and the price is fantastic. Quick delivery! The best pillow I have ever owned. And I am super picky about my pillow. Comfortable from the first night, even thought I was only on my 4th week of a full mask cpap. I was able to sleep through the whole night for the first time.
