I received a candle with a wood wick for a gift about a year ago and I really enjoyed the crackling sound of the burning wick. I recently searched on Amazon for wood wick candles and decided to buy this one.For the price I paid I was extremely disappointed as I had two major problems with this candle. Number one, the wood wick crackles so quietly it is almost imperceptible. It might as well be a regular wick. Number two, it was extremely difficult to keep the candle lit. The candle came with the wick already trimmed to the proper 1/4 inch length, but the candle would often go out on its own, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after one minute. Once it became more trouble to try to keep the candle lit than was worth it, I actually had to throw it away because it was essentially useless. I barely got 1/4 use out of the candle.I certainly hope that not every person who buys this candle has the same experience I do.My best advice when considering purchasing this candle is that if my candle is representative of their product (i.e. not a defective one) and you’re buying this candle because you want to hear a relatively loud crackling sound from the wood wick, this is not the right candle for you.Btw - I picked up a WoodWick brand candle at Crackle Barrel last week and it has the perfect crackling wood wick sound. If that's what you're after - I highly recommend looking into that brand.

Unfortunately this candle was very disappointing and I feel like I wasted a lot of money for a low quality item. After the first night the candle no longer held its flame and continued to extinguish itself quickly. I attempted to pour out the excess melted wax in hopes of maintaining a flame but no such luck. It literally burns for 10 minutes and then extinguishes itself. Very disappointing.

After some work I was able to get this candle lit the first time. I thought maybe it was because the candle was new. Next time I lit the candle it would light and then go out after 10 seconds. This happened 4 or 5 times and I ended up holding the lighter to the wick for multiple minutes until It eventually lit and stayed lit. The third time I tried to light the candle the wick was all burned away from before and would immediately go out any time I could get the wick to burn. I wouldn't suggest buying this style of candle, and I won't be doing it again in the future. :(

I purchased this candle because it was advertised as a wood crackling wick with aromatherapy sandalwood scent. Unfortunately, the wick did not crackle at all, even when burning for hours at a time. The one I received is a silent candle. The scent is pleasant but you need to get very close to smell it, so its aromatic properties are probably very low. I was disappointed that it did not crackle (that was the reason I was willing to spend more for it) and I contacted GWE to let them know I wanted to return it. They were very prompt in getting back with me and ended up refunding my purchase without asking me to return it. With that said, although the candle is rather disappointing, it did come in very cute, giftable packaging.

Looks and smells nice but needs insane amount of attention to actually burn. The crackling is barely noticeable and not worth any of the energy needed to make it actually burn.

I bought it as a gift for my roommate and the jar shattered once the wax melted and got hot. Complete waste of money. The product smells amazing, cute packaging, just not useable.

Candle smells great but it won’t burn. The wick won’t take to a flame; it’ll light for a few seconds and then go out. Smells good, looks good, beautiful packaging, but unfortunately not a good quality candle.

The scent was great and the concept of the crackling wooden wick sounded great. The issue was it wouldn't stay lit. Overall I wouldn't buy this again.
