omg thank god the next installment is already written
This book was an incredibly crazy ride, from the beginning scenes where I’m trying to follow which case ties in with what, which details will matter later, etc. I love trying to process a book written like this. Too exciting to put down, trying not to rush through chapters too fast, letting some of the painful scenes sink in, and this book has pain and horror in spades. This author excels in getting the reader deeply vested in her characters, main or otherwise. Not to mention the underlying Spencer arc, just finished the last chapter and my heart is still pounding but before I grab the next in the series I wanted to try and jot down a semi coherent review while the scenes are so fresh in my mind. I admit the beginning of this one went a bit slow for me, two of the early characters weren’t really speaking to me until their pain was screaming off the page and I couldn’t ignore them. Wow what a terrible, shocking storyline where you can’t help but feel empathy for all of them, even the “bad guys” and boy were they awful. The author treated all of the aspects with careful dignity and humanity, engaging me deeply through the end.

Excellent next book in the series!
I am enjoying reading this series and following the story of Anna Schwartzman. I am looking forward to the next book and what I hope will finally give some closure to Anna. The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that in this book I started to feel like as the author learned a new word or medical term it was shared with us in a way that made me feel like it was being overly described, almost like a definition from a dictionary on multiple occasions. I hadn’t noticed that in the prior two books. It’s not really a bad thing but just something that felt separate from the story and not very fluid. Other that that I think the books are great and I enjoy the authors writing style.

A very intense story
This was an intense and complex story that started years ago when two college friends survived a horrific assault. Unfortunately, the trauma and terror never left either of them even though they had tried to move on with their lives. Dr. Schwartzman has been trying to assist with the current cases from the beginning, but they all keep hitting dead ends. Will they be able to figure everything out in time?As much as I have really enjoyed this series, I am a bit disappointed by the huge cliffhanger ending for this book. The cases themselves have been solved, but the situation with Dr. Schwartzman and her ex-husband is evidently heating up again. Luckily, the next book is already available.I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Loved it but......
I have loved Danielle Girard since her first book. Have read them all starting with the Rookie club series. Then several stand alone book which were also fantastic. And then I could not find any more books by this author until one day searching through Amazon, I came across the first Anna Schwartzman book. I was so excited and ordered and read it immediately. Loved it and also the 2nd. Anna and Hal are such wonderful characters and their relationship, which continues to grow, add so much to the story. Then the 3rd book, Expose, was published and I was so excited to read it. I just finished it and loved the story and how Hal and Anna solved the vicious crimes committed by a psychopath. I would have given this book a 5;, however, I was so disappointed in the ending, shocked, but disappointed. The closure to Anna's story has been drawn out way too long. It needs to come to and end and then Hal and Anna need to move on and continue to do what they do best - seek justice for the victims.

Terrible ending - beware
Okay, I truly enjoy this series. I was all in for this third installment with Hal and crew desperately looking for leads to seemingly unrelated murders somehow tied to two assaults fourteen years previous. A tangled web that came together brilliantly. Then the evolving relationship with Hal and Schwarzman -- so realistically done. But I have to say I absolutely hated the ending. Yes, I gave this five stars because it is really great. I am not going to read anymore of this series. I will not read about anymore torture (what Spencer has in mind) and Hal and Anna being emotionally tortured while Anna is kidnapped and being tortured (per Spencer's disgusting plans). Makes me sad to have to pass on an amazing detective/police procedural series.

Better than the Second and As good as the First
I really liked the storyline for this third book in the Anna Schwartzman series. I wasn't as thrilled about the second book and was hoping for an improvement and I certainly got it. The main crime was a solid mystery that kept the reader guessing over a wide array of suspects and motivations. There was just enough personal drama to make the characters slightly more realistic (sans the ex-husband craziness). I like the pairing of Hal and Anna as a team. Its a good combination I think. The only two points that bothered me are there was a bit of confusion for me reading about the dates toward the end. Because the story jumps around between a few different characters I was seriously confused as to when one of the crimes took place. I actually went back in the book to check myself and I was still a bit confused. Also I do not know how the author managed to drag out the ex-husband drama across 4 books but she did....Warning the book ends in a cliff hanger that makes reading the 4th one right away necessary!!!! I do hope the ex-husband drama is laid to rest (literally) in the 4th book. I do not know how much more of him I can stand.

I'm Addicted
I am now a fan of Danielle Girand, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I purchased the first book in this series and after reading it purchased the next couple and read them back to back. Great characters and story line.

gripping story
Danielle Girard did it again, she wrote another Mystery that kept me reading for hours. I just could not put down the book before knowing exactly what happened 14 years ago and again now to Aleena and Bittx. And further more what happens in the life of Dr. Schwartzman and the Psychopath she is still married to.

A good read
While the proof reading is better than most the errors are still jarring. A little more care would make for a much better read.
