New Cooktop is great!
Our new cooktop, the Frigidaire FFEC3024LB, fit all of our needs. The best part was the installation process. The instructions were very clear and concise. Not being very familiar in installing a cook top before I began by dismantling the old one in order to disconnect the electrical connections. Don't bother. The new Frigidaire comes with the connections already connected leaving you the only task of connecting the unit to the home's electrical source. Save some time and effort by just disconnecting the old from the wall source and connecting the new in its place. Total time for installation by a do-it-yourselfer was about 45 minutes to and hour. Also, the old cook top fit in the new cook top's packing. Easy for disposal at curbside on garbage pick up day.In addition I had to trim the opening slightly for the new cook top to fit. It replaced a same size cook top but the dimensions needed were 1/16th of an inch more. A hand sander did the trick and the new stove top fit nicely. The stove top has performed as expected. The larger controls are nice and are easily removable for cleaning. The controls each have very clear temperature selection stops and a delineated simmer selection that is very handy. We had considered getting the white model but settled for the black model due to concerns with keeping it looking nice. So far cleaning is a snap and we only use hot water, soft cleaning rag and an occasional small application of dish soap followed by a water only based wipe. Very satisfied.

Our second generation of the same cooktop
This is our second one. The first one worked great. It was about 10 years old. It met its match when something was dropped on it breaking the glass. We had it that way for a long time. There were some good improvements made. Self centering springs on the edges to position the cooktop in the cutout. I was able to remove the ones I had created at the corners to keep it centered. They were stapled in pieces of wood. The biggest improvement is the addition of brackets that install at the right and left sides, centerline. You have to mount the bracket into the counter. It is important to get the sixteenth inch gap at the top of the bracket or the glass wont seat flush with the counter. My counter is 'corean' (sp?) and didn't have enough thickness to give me good distance to the edge. I used a dremmel and removed metal toward the rop edge to let the screw be where it needed to be.Works great.

This is the 2nd Electric Cooktop from Frigidaire ~~!!
Truly excellent value! Stand alone stoves seem out of date and beyond ugly in a small kitchen, but these cook tops are sleek and extremely efficient; almost as responsive as gas.My first one was white, and lasted well over 15 years, still looking like new even after having renters in the condo after I moved to a new location. It's important to know that this black cook top does NOT come with a plug. Depending on your own power source for stove hookup, you will need to buy and/or have an electrician install the connection.I needed a three prong male plug for connection to an available female three hole socket. Also, if you plan to install over a kitchen cabinet, you'll need to know that the underside of the cooktop will be too tight, and itwill be necessary to cut away on three sides at the top of your cabinet. Will fit just fine in a 30" wide opening between counters, though you'll want/need to support the front and back somehow. The knobs are excellent ~~ large, easy to read, and with definitive clicks for positions. The burners light up immediately and regulate fast with each adjustment; also cool fairly quickly after use.For the price, it would hard to beat this model of Frigidaire Cooktop ~~!!The Black colour is stunning when trimmed with black marble.

Works Very Well
After nearly a year of use, this cooktop continues to work well. It heats quickly, and it seems to keep a reasonably consistent temperature. You do need to clean it often, and the cleaner provided with it is terrible. Do yourself a favor and get Weiman's cleaner- it works very well. One year on and it looks new still. The only reason that I don't rate it five stars- the knobs. To clean this well, it's best to remove the knobs, and the outer edges are near knife-edge sharp so be careful when removing them. There's really no reason for that and it should be addressed. Other than that this has been a very good cooktop for us.

Functional upon arrival
This replaced a 20yrs old $6000 JennAir cooktop with 4 heating elements covered with Schott Ceran glass. This unit also has 4 heating elements covered with Schott Ceran glass. The quality of manufacturing efficiency has obviously improved in the past 20yrs that structure felt very sound without $6000 price tag.Only difference between 20yrs old JennAir and 2018 Frigidaire was that this product does not have an individual hot surface indicator assigned to every heating element but only have one indicator for any/all four heating element.

Cooks food, but don't expect the features of higher end models
Not as good as g.e., but half the cost. Does the job. G.e. It replaces was too narrow for the counter hole. The cooktop does get hot even outside the circles during long use, but not as hot as within.... compared to higher end models (which cost more) where you can touch right outside the circle and feel almost no heat. Also there is only one indicator for "hot cooktop", not one indicator for each cooktop like higher end models. It also is hard to keep clean. But for what I needed, a short term replacement for 6-12mos until we re-do the kitchen, it does the job.

Good buy for the price.
I like the knob settings, from simmering which is useful, to high. I do feel nervous using it as I am afraid it will crack easily.I haven’t decided yet on a cleaner which I have to be careful choosing and not using anything abrasive. I did use the one I was given that might protect it and remove tough stains but need something lighter. So far I have enjoyed cooking on it.
