This is written for those of us who crave a wealth of knowledge when it ones to making wine. This book became my desk reference for the total acidity titration since the three other books I purchased still left me with questions. I have more than a basic chemistry back ground and this author didn't leave anything to question. This is one you really should consider owning. My six gallon batch of raspberry wine is fermenting perfectly with all the correct aspects one could wish for :)

Best Single Text for the Home Winemaker
This book provides great guidance for the new Home Winemaker. It is a must read before picking up that first load of grapes. All of the processes from the crush and fermentation through aging and bottling are clearly described. The book has excellent technical detail on subjects like pH, TA, Brix and sulfites as well as remedial items when things don't go quite right. It is a handy reference that should be kept close with key areas tabbed.

Pambianchi hits a homerun
Techniques in Home Winemaking blends the careful attention to detail that any winemaker should strive for, and expresses it with a clarity that makes you breathe a sigh of relief. Garden variety topics are made plain, and the more esoteric pursuits are referred to in enough detail that you can at least get started. This is a great book to take a beginner on up through the intermediate level and beyond.

My Wine Bible
More aspects of the world of winemaking than I can participate in are covered in detail by this excellent book. As a kit-winemaker, this well written book covers the nitty-gritty of the art and technology of my winemaking attempts. It is sufficiently up-to-date for my purposes, and it is my alternative to courses at Davis.

This is the most authoritative guide to winemaking technique
This is a fantastic reference volume for those into home winemaking. It is NOT a good first read for someone just starting in home winemaking. There are no recipes. It's pretty much an encyclopedic explanation of all wine making techniques that MIGHT be accessible to a home winemaker.

Excellent Info
This book is a great start for a fledgling vintner and appears to have enough detail to be useful even after becoming competent. It doesn't assume you know anything about winemaking, giving detailed descriptions of the various processes and explaining the purpose and importance of each of the steps. Source information for supplies is also very helpful.
