Great research, fun to read.
Even if you like I have many, many other books on the series, Mr. Richardson's is well worth adding. The level of detail is so impressive, and even after nearly 50 --yes 50 years of obsession with this show, I learned a lot.

A Comprehensive Guide to The Avengers
This is probably the most comprehensive guide to both The Avengers and The New Avengers. This great book by Michael Henderson does a wonderful job of exploring all the production details of each episode of both series. In the decades since the '80s/'90s, when most books on the subject were published, a lot of new behind-the-scenes production information has come to light, plus many of the actors, directors, and screenwriters have divulged more information than was known back then. This book brings it all together. My only critique is that if you're a casual fan just looking to re-explore an old nostalgic favorite, this book might be a little bit too much—maybe try Quite Quite Fantastic! The Avengers for Modern Viewers if that's what you're looking for. However, if you're an avid fan, one who has already read all the other fan guides, this will be just what you're looking for. This book and Quite Quite Fantastic! The Avengers for Modern Avengers are the new gold standard for books on the Avengers shows in my, probably biased, opinion.

The ULTIMATE Avengers (British Television franchise) reference book
After several false starts, I was glad to get my hands on the sort of reference book I'd been looking for. This tome covers everything: all media, but with a huge focus on the original 60s series and the 70s follow up. There's episode by episode behind the scenes, including series development info inserted chronologically. Exhaustive appendices at the back provide further information on the cast and crew. The author, Michael Richardson, has done an incredible job researching and collating such a huge volume of information and that kind of painstaking effort can only come from being a fan who clearly has a long history with and deep interest in the show. If for some reason you only bought one Avengers book, this would be the one I'd recommend. A perfect companion to watch the series with. 11/10.

Meh
Same old. I was hoping for new, or at least more in their pioneer director Peter Hammond,

Huge Work of Research, Comprehensive and Very Readable!
I bought the Kindle version as it'll be easier to carry around with me if I'm travelling than the printed version.Having only jumped about at random so far, I feel I can say that it's a *very* comprehensive look at the production of THE AVENGERS and THE NEW AVENGERS as well as a look at some of the spins offs (novels, stageplays etc). Plenty of background and production information and lots of stuff that (maybe) a hard core AVENGERS fan would know, but certainly not the more casual fan.I've read enough to know it's an indispensible purchase not only for fans of The Avengers and The New Avengers, but also for fans of Cult TV in general.

The ultimate Avengers Book
So having read this in less than a week, this in my humble opinion could be the ultimate book that documents the whole history of a well loved cult classicThe author has certainly done his homework and even mentioned the less known stage play and radio series, the book goes at a nice pace giving the reader what they want to knowI would love a second volume but this is pretty much perfect so will just start reading it again10/10

a great terrific in depth book
Read the kindle version, a great terrific in depth book, just one or two minor quibbles - when reviewing the N.A. episode "House of Cards" the author mixes up Annette Andre with Joanna Lumley, claiming the former was the Bishops stepdaughter when it was Lumley's Purdey. And in the biography section did I miss an entry for Patrick Newell ?
