cute, but Charlie Monkey is better
Got this book because "Charlie Monkey" is one of our favorites. I like the rhymes and the simple colorful illustrations. Charlie Monkey is a little cuter to me, I don't like the rhyme "Ladybug Lou doesn't mind the rain, but putting on boots is such a pain". Sounds crazy, but I don't want to instill in my child that things we need to do (like put our boots on) is a pain. I generally try to avoid books/stories that have any negative message, and to my surprise a lot of them do. Just my opinion to those who want to debate my review!

Love Millie Moo
We love the Priddy books, and also have the other Millie Moo book as well. Both are great reads for kids.

A fun book
My daughter loves this one. It has very colorful pictures and the pages are thick (it can't be ruined even if your child chews on the book!). Just wish it was a little longer though!

Makes ridiculous claims and contains no references.
Wow, this book has some serious deficiencies, where do I even start? The beginning I suppose. On the first page, we're told that Millie Moo is the happiest cow around, but no supporting evidence is provided for this claim. Why is she so happy? Grass fed? Organic? who knows, you're supposed to just take it at face value. Then we meet an elephant who is pink? Seriously? This cryptozoology creature likes to "stand out in a crowd". It's hard to stand out when you don't exist. Everybody knows that the only people who see pink elephants are drunks. Then there's a zebra who's blue and orange? Are these guys even trying? Too much Fortean Times I think. On the fourth page we meet a Panda who they don't even bother to give a name to? He's just called Panda! That's some BS right there, all the other land animals get names but Panda is just named after the type of animal he is? Seems speciesist to me. At this point it does start to make a little sense though. While "Panda" is all kinds of colors instead of being black and white, the author tells us that he was bored so he painted his own fur. Semi plausible I suppose since pandas do have a kind of opposable thumb (technically a modified sesamoid bone, but no need to over complicate a childrens book I guess.) so he would be capable of holding the paint brush but who gave him the paint and why was he so upset with his original colors? Seems like a healthy dose of white guilt, and black guilt, how conflicted "Panda" must be.Additionally we meet an androgenous lady bug who wears boots, even though he/she can fly, a monkey who wears a sweater but like a common pervert he doesn't even bother with pants, and some fish who we're told have fingers. Fishy finger jokes now? Inappropriate. With all of the points above taken into consideration, I should give this book 1 star.Alas my 3 month old son loves it so I suppose it gets 5 stars, but with the caveat that I weep for his future if he takes the information in this book seriously.

colourful
The book was colourful and pictures shiny and textured which caught child's attention but the words were silly and not at all funny.
