Great for scroll cuts in Plexiglass and others too!
This is a well made versatile tool. I purchased the Trio in order to cut some 12" diameter holes in particle board (like the peg board material but without the holes!). I purchased this kit because the circle guide was included and it did a great job. I found it useful to move the handle into the inline position (push the round blue button) which made cutting the holes easier. The tool is quieter than I expected and felt very controllable. I was able to plunge the bit into my work piece by using the heel of the base as a pivot on the particle board. There was a slight "fuzz" left on the edge of the particle board where I had made the cut but this was easily removed with a sharp knife.I also used the Trio to make some real clean edged cuts in some 1/4" Plexiglass. I was really impressed as I cannot think of another tool that would do a clean scroll cut in Plexiglass! There was a slight build up of shavings on one edge of the Plexiglass but this was easy to break off by hand leaving a really clean edge. I would recommend this tool if you have to do scroll cuts in a variety of materials. Please note that the bits have a 3/16" shank which is larger than other Dremel bits.

Dremel 6800-01 Trio Rotary Tool Kit
This is a great start to a great tool. Everything about it is great and the ability to move the handle from horizontal to vertical is great and on the hole it is a good tool. BUT it doesn't have enough router bits which limits its use. Thereare router tools from dremel but they have a 1/8 shank and doesn't work with this tool. This tool take a 3/16 shank with the same size collet. It has four cutting tools and three router bits that you can buy. If this tool has more router bits like a small bowl bit or an v bit or a larger selection of bits I could would use this tool more often. When that happens I will give this tool five stars.Sgt J In Julian Are you listen Dremel?

Good quality, purchased used.
Purchased this item used from one of the "high up"suggested sellers. The description mentioned some small pieces missing, the missing smalls were few. The tool shows little use. The shaft seems tight with little wear. Electrically everything seems fresh. The used price was a fraction of the new. I don't usually buy used tools, but this time it worked well. I feel like I got a real bargain. The only dislike I have is the larger shank size. Requires a new set of bits that won't interchange with my many standard Dremels.

Don't bother getting this
Here's the deal...I purchased it thinking it was the latest and greatest since my older Dremel was just that...OLD. I failed to read the fine print to learn that none of my bits would work on it. This needs special bits and they are hard and expensive to come by. To add insult to injury, it seized up on me during the first few minutes I used it when freehanding an outlet in sheetrock. Dremel replaced it but I had to use my old Dremel to finish the garage until my replacement came 2 weeks later.

Very underpowered, very disappointed!!
I love tools and I pride myself on my tools. This one will not go into my collection - I will probably give it to Goodwill. I am very disappointed in this little tool. My major gripe is that it won't use all the other bits that I have from my other Dremels. It will only use about 3 or 4 different, high priced, specialty bits that are not all that great. The tool has a nice feel to it but it doesn't have much power. I tried to cut a 3/8" piece of pine and it really bogged down. The router bit works OK but you only have one profile. I would not recommend this tool and I'm very sorry I bought it. It was a total waste of money!

Good idea, but doesnt function right
I was so excited to get this tool for DIY wood working crafts. I was using the circle guide to cut three circles for a DIY wooden cupcake tower, and the bits kept breaking! i swear on my life i was using it properly, i watched videos and read everything i could on the circle making process and operating the device. It just doesnt have enough power to cut wood, even if it is the appropriate depth for the device. i was upset and requested to return it, i mean what is the point of a tool if the bits break like they are made of glass?

Dremel Trio Scores High
This is not my first dremel tool, but it looks like it will be my last once since I believe this one will last me a lifetime. The quality is excellent and its flexibility lends itself to performing all the functions I need or ever will need from a dremel tool. Only important consideration is its size. If your dremel needs are more light duty dealing with such things as jewelry repair or jewelry construction, perhaps a smaller less powerful dremel tool would be more suitable for your use.

For those hard to reach places. A good choice.
I would have given it 5 stars except second time using hardest bit they make and came with kits broke after two trial runs. I had to buy a replacement and this one used often and on birch layer plywood with no problems. Thank goodness.Would recommend buying smaller foot base to replace one it comes with to get into tight places. This part comes with an attachment to funnel saw dust to regular vacuum. Was cheaper then buying replacement bit. Recommend turning attachment till no saw dust escapes.
