Fine and course polishing grit
Grinding paste for honing valves. I use it to sharpen my reel mower. Two grits. This is imported and the extra price reflects that. The two grits work well. Fine and course.

Great for grinding lidded ceramic jars.
I’ve used this a number of times to grind the lids on stoneware jars, after glaze firing. It works really really well every time. I’ve always ended up with a really tight, close fit even on pieces that are slightly warped. I highly recommend this for ceramic use.

Great for checking and cleaning up valve seats
I hand lapped the valves on a set of used Vortec heads. I just wanted to clean up the seats a little so I only used the Fine compound. Used a piece of fuel tubing and listened to hear the valves smoothing out, maybe 30-45 seconds per valve. Before I could get 25in of vacuum and they’d bleed down in about 5 seconds. Video shows the result.

Valve grinding paste.
Haven’t used this valve grinding compound yet but I like that it’s a paste rather than grit in oil. It’s also convenient for storage to have the double ended container with course and fine on opposite ends. Not sure how convenient this will be when actually using the paste as you first grind with coarse the finish with the fine. With multiple valves to grind you will be constantly opening and closing the ends.

Works great but greasy
I bought this to help lids fit in pottery jars. It works great for that (even though it’s not the intended purpose). The only downside is that it leaves a greasy residue/stain on the pottery that needs to be burned off and can prevent glaze from sticking. Overall I would buy again. But I definitely have to have a game plan for how to clean the paste up when I’m done using it.

Perfect fit
I saw a potter use this paste to get a perfect fit from a lid on a pot that was too tight. I tried the same and it did the job. The lid was a hair too wide and using the paste enabled me to twist the lid into place gradually grinding the surface to fit perfectly. Having a course and a fine grit was a plus. The ground ceramic surface was almost as smooth as the other surfaces that were glazed. I’m glad to have this in my arsenal for finishing pottery.
